OUR problem is not talent, It is Venables.

When you have 3, 5 star LB and you cant plug holes, that is completely the scheme. I am not saying get rid of him. I am just saying he did an awful job tonight. You can say all day long that people didn't make plays which is true, but they passed the ball in the middle RIGHT where proper LBs are supposed to be all night long. I feel really bad for our offense. It isn't fair to Chad Morris.

To be honest, Florida State is very good especially on defense. Their secondary made a few mistakes, but they are really good in coverage. Our offense played very well. Defensively, the big plays killed us. I am beginning to wonder about our assistant coaches on defense. When the cornerbacks allow receivers to catch the ball without looking back to locate the ball, that seems to be poor coaching. I will not be surprised if some assistants on defense be terminated at the end of the year.

Our D is bad because of youth and lack of talent.

talent or depth on defense that FSU has - that's why they worn us down in the 2nd half.

I agree 100% we do not have near enough talent but you cannot possible say that giving up 667 yards and 49 points is COMPLETELY on talent.

1. There will be other ACC schools to do better against their offense than we did.
2. Our defense couldn't contain Furman or Ball State. Certainly our talent outranks theirs!
Other schools' defense does far better with far less than we have.
We have enough talent. Something else is wrong.

We have a defense that needs to improve.
We have a few POS fans who need to improve or get lost.
Do what you can to help Clemson.
Go Tigers!!

He stopped FSU in Tally last year when he had talent

It's a very young defense that desperately needs athletes everywhere. I don't think our line pressured EJ once. They had to choose between letting FSU get 8 yards per play or blitzing and FSU getting a TD. Let's be honest. The better team won. The problem is the talent on offense will be gone before the D can be rebuilt.

I don't like the "young" excuse, but our 5* LBs are young.

I don't care for that excuse anywhere else on the team...can't keep saying we're young, year after year. Our new LB's are very talented, but haven't played much yet. Not sure why we don't have better depth in other areas...

How do you explain his success at Oklahoma, where he

had some really good defenses - usually the best or among the best in a high-powered offensive league?
Venables didn't suddenly forget how to coach - he just doesn't know how to work a miracle.

with good talent, then it follows that he would be successful here with good talent. The fact that he has not been successful yet, would indicate that he does not have a very talented defense yet, which is my point.

Willie Korn? 5 star, #4 guy in the world. I think he wound up not cutting it as a DB @ West-by-god-Virgina State or some other Shyatt school.
