I’ll say this, regardless of whether DJ or Cade are/aren’t

The solution, shame on Dabo for how he’s handled Cade to date. The ridiculous level of favoritism shown to DJ is over the top, to the point it’s certainly going to screw with CK mentally.
From giving him almost no reps during garbage time all season (for a coach who usually puts backups in too early), to giving Cade almost zero credit for saving the Syracuse game (he was too busy telling us DJ was our leader), to putting him in once again tonight when it’s almost too late to save the game and then yanking him immediately after a mistake despite DJ making them all game, Dabo through his actions has told this kid that he completely does not have his back. He can’t just flip a light switch next year and act like some proud father figure after screwing him over this entire season.

Well you know he will. I hope this favoritism doesn’t cost the team both Cade and Vizzina. DJ might not leave, where would he go?

That “mistake” was bc we have a completely inept OC… you don’t roll a freaking true freshman again this body to make a play .. what kind of sense does that make I mean I’m still trying to understand that thought process … Brandon streeter is a super failed experiment which is embarrassing bc Clemson deserves so much better especially where we are as a program

All on dabo on the handling/mishandling of Cade. Dju needs to sit the rest of the year…. He’s had his shot and failed on the field. That sends a message to the team that we tried and are now moving on.

Agreed completely.
If I’m Dabo, I’m telling DJ and Big Dud to hit the road.. Wes whoever and Streeter are getting demoted and I’m texting Chad Morris to see how he’s been..
Unfortunately, zero of these will happen.

If we are recycling, I’ll take Scott back before Chad. Heck, I might take Rich Rod back before Chad.

Fair enough, I’d love to have JS back as well..
If we could fire boot DJ, Streeter and Wes, I’d be ok with bringing in whoever they want..
Quick question though - when was the last time Dabo fired a coach?

Dabo fires coaches the way churches fire preachers. You don’t actually fire them, you just keep telling all the other churches how good your preacher is until another church hires them.

Yep. No chance either happen, and our new wonder boy Athletic Director won’t force him to make changes either. Hell, that kid can’t even force Brownell out.

DJ is simply too inconsistent to depend on.
Nov 6, 2022, 1:39 AM

He's a great kid, but his decision-making and passing accuracy are always subject to implosion. I hope Dabo will take a step back and examine his strategy. It doesn't seem right that the other players have their futures crushed just so Dabo doesn't hurt DJ's feelings.
Dabo's job, I thought, was to put these kids in the best position to win. As long as he stays with the illusion that one day DJ's gonna snap out of it, he's crushing the dreams and hard work of the other players. DJ is a great guy but is simply too inconsistent. In CFB that translates into unreliable.

I was thinking the same thing. Stupid play call then he makes a freshman mistake and is jerked when the Junior has been making freshman mistakes for 2 years and then does the pick 96 the next series and he doesn’t get the same treatment.

Well said.
“It doesn't seem right that the other players have their futures crushed just so Dabo doesn't hurt DJ's feelings. “ I am still trying to find Dabo’s logic. Did Dabo give special treats to KB and protect KB’s feeling? I cannot recall any of that.

I thought Elliott was back with the disappointing play calling. DJ should not have started the 3rd quarter. Dabo coaching like Tommy Bowden doesn't gain wins. Waited till we were in a Big Hole & stuck it to Klubnik for a miracle against a highly fast & tough defense. No one mentions the pressure from the rusher hitting Chad as he threw which took some zip off the throw. Where was I blockers? Dabo doesn't look at the big picture & puts DJ back in only to worsen our chances. Dabo said we had a good week of practice. What about the week before? We had TWO Weeks to Prepare. Here you are up against a team that already had several blocked punts so where was the preparation for this? I only remember 1 slant across the middle which is hard to defend against & doesn't take but a couple seconds to run lessoning the chance of as sack from an aggressive defensive line. Dabo never apologized to the 100's of Fans who took the time & expense to follow him there. It was a terribly embarrassing loss. Dabo appears to be overrated & over paid.

DJU has true Character. The sportsmanship this kid showed tonight when the Irish defender fell injured in front of him was remarkable. And you add in the supportive comments he has had about Cade. DJU is a class act and a man we can all look up to regardless of his QB play.

i guess you would have to sit through the practices to get the complete story on where Cade's development is, and be a fly on the wall during 1 on 1 meetings between players and coaches, otherwise you really have no clue what you are talking about.

at the end of the day it did not matter which QB we had in there because we could not block and tackle. Their corners came out of the gate and whipped our receivers, taking away the WR screens, I knew it was going to be a long day after the first 2 drives stalled on holding calls. There was only so much Shipley could do, and as soon as we rolled him out of the backfield, they knew where the ball was going. It was ugly, but it is not the end of the year. Credit ND, They just came out and whipped us. The wind also did not help. And If I were to pick one position group that needs the most help, it is not QB, it would be WR. There is no one on this roster that strikes fear into opposing teams, at least not yet.

I agree completely. Dabo has been very stubborn about DJ. Not sure why, but he has clearly been unfair to Cade. Last night was the worst. I hope Cade doesn’t transfer.
As as as the coordinators, that was a huge mistake. He let his feelings get in the way of a business decision. He will have no choice but to fire or demote them.

But how much “garbage time” have we really had this season?
Nov 6, 2022, 7:27 AM
|
|
I agree with your point, but we have not put anyone away like we should have. No killer instinct.
We just seem insecure, from Dabo, to the coordinators, to the coaching staff, to the players, to the fans. We are all defensive, defending the status quo, and we are not being honest with ourselves. The emperor has no clothes. We are all saying it now, but how long have we been seeing it and not saying it?
