20 year high school reunion advice...

Haven't seen the high school flame in at least 16 years. Think she's still holding up decently compared to most. Probably shouldn't risk a bathroom break together, but you can't help but to wonder what those 30 mins would be like after 20 years.
Anyone been in similar situations? Did you pick up right where you left off?

the 20 year reunion was during the COVID shutdowns so we skipped. They rescheduled it for the next year and we skipped that one too.
I married a girl from High School. For a while, my wife worked at that same High School. I don't need to see many of those people to know what is going on. Since we moved away now, there is VERY LITTLE chance I would go again.
My Dad was class president of his high school though and they stayed very close and he really enjoyed his class reunions.

The 10th, 20th, and will also do it for the 30th in a couple of years. Judging by the pictures from the events, I didn't miss much.
I guess if one went to a fun high school or something, maybe it would be a good time.

The 1-2 folks I want to keep in touch with, I do. Sometimes I run into others, and I'd really rather not.
How does one answer..."So...still got that Jeep you had? What have you been up to"? You mean the 10 year old jeep I had when I was in 10th grade? No..I got rid of that. That was damnnear 40 years ago.

I keep up with my sister and her husband. That's the only high school I need to keep up with.
My school was very segregated and split almost 50-50, but it was pathetic how much the white and black students didn't interact or mix. When they posted pictures of the cookout and activities at the 10-year reunion, it looked like nothing had changed. No thanks.

Surprised by how many were still alive. Flame was a huge no. Her upper parts were now middle.parts. Her middle parts were huge. Her face had metamorphed and not like a butterfly. Ugghh.

my 20 yr reunion, had one (NOT a former flame, just friends in HS) tell me she wanted me in HS but never knew how to tell me, and that she still did. She got married, and looked better than she did in HS. I was not married.
Side note: Everybody peaks at different time. Many HS babes peak at 18, some of the average ones wait until much later in life. And of course, some never do.
This one was was peaking at 40, time had been very kind to her. We lived about 2 hours from each other. We discreetly swapped numbers and about a month or so later, she snuck up to Columbia (where I lived) and we had a couple days/nights of fun on the ruse that she was up on business.
And that was it. I think we both were happy with that result.
I saw her about 10 years later, neither mentioned anything. She was still married, so no fallout from it. All turned out well.

You and her both are 50% responsible. The action is at minimum highly immoral and at max something you could find yourself in real bad way about. You ever read the news? MFers be wild out there.
A couple of days of self serving pleasure with the potential consequences of destroying a marriage. Don't even get me started about kids if they are involved. Kids that likely would be facing a lifetime of trauma to deal with. Kids that grow up far differently and in many cases that ultimately face their own relationship issues due to either a learned lack of trust or learned behaviors that result in further betrayal. Kids that probably end up in therapy for significant periods of time.
Yes, most of this isn't YOUR problem...except the f around and find out part when the husband figures it out. If you have a conscience, you get to let that weigh on you. Butthey, anything for seggs even at the expense of entire families, right? Not my kids, so who cares got laid right?

He threw a wedding party for one of my best friends. You don't turn down that invite. ANYWAY, I'm there with my HS best friend, and of course he invited everyone from HS who he/we was/were good friends with, which also includes of course, my ex from HS.
Wife's there with me and I had the uncomfortable honor of introducing wife to the first girl I ever....well, anyway.......
For some sick, twisted reason. I kind of enjoyed that awkward moment. To be fair, wife brushed it off almost immediately lest she give me any additional pleasure in the situation. HS GF (still single at the time) kept her distance the rest of the evening and was clearly the more uncomfortable of the two.

We have our 30 year later this summer and my buddies from that era, who i'm still friends with anyway, and I are all going. Frankly, it's just an excuse to get the 4 of us back together, since we haven't done a guys trip in a few years. They're the only ones I care to see nowadays anyway, but I already keep in touch with them regularly, so I don't know why I'm going back to Columbia for it. They all live pretty far away these days.
