Dabos portal policy or being consistently elite are mutually exclusive decisions

In this era of ball; it may revert one day, but this is where things stand. If Clemson Nation and Dabo follow the current trajectory, we will sacrifice wins to do what we perceive to be the "right thing". It is very myopic to believe you can't have a tradition and culture by only playing your HS recruits. Especially when the recruits want to win and get paid, which means they will bail should a better offer arise. With NIL we aren't just seeing kids with no playing time transfer. For example, the Big 10 sack leader from last year started for aTm last night. We all saw the Vandy WR torch us.
Time will tell who's right, but the present isn't feeling so great. Dabo has been so openly and publicly anti portal that the portal is almost closed to Clemson. The entire sport reached a crossroads a couple of years ago and everyone but Dabo turned one direction. Our short term outcomes sink or swim on his decision and philosophy. For now we have to come to terms with games like we just witnessed and hang our hats on high grad rates and being loyal in an era of blatant disloyalty. Will time prove we are on the righteous path, or will it prove we are on the path of prideful unchecked stubbornness?
it's not a coincedence that our demise the last 4 years has paralleled the uptick in NIL/portal...............the portal was born in October of 2018 and once it set in and took off we fell off the cliff.
Been saying for 4 years now...........Dabo's philosophy DOES NOT WORK in today's game.
