Receivers took a huge leap forward first and foremost with Cade huge jump in 2024 and we continue to load up on top notch receiver talent.
Can we get off Tyler Grisham now, and stop bashing him as a bad “friends and family” hire by Dabo? Tyler appears to be working out just fine, and that group continues to strengthen along with the much improved QB.

At the time that Dabo hired Grisham in 2020 he wasn't the best choice for that hire. BC of Grisham's experience as a college WR, and fresh out of college as an interim wide receiver's coach it has actually taken him 6 years to get a handle on the position as a coach. IMO that was pretty quick for someone new as a coach to get a handle on a coaching a position, with most it takes several more years. I win nor lose a thing if nobody agrees with that...

I haven’t heard any Grisham bashing since the improvements. The prior criticism was pretty warranted based on how much the WR talent had fallen off, but he has done a great job turning it around.

In Grishams first year as WR coach we had the most productive passing season in our history. That was Cornell Powell and Amari Rodgers. Grisham undoubtedly improved those players moving Cornell forward from obscurity to an NFL draft pick. He increased Amari’s production and improved his draft stock. Of course during this time we had a great QB.
Without a great QB nowadays you will not have a great offense.
We CLEARLY were hampered by injuries and the QB during Grisham’s 2nd and 3rd years. Let’s be honest, we could’ve had 5 Tee Higgins out there, and it wouldn’t have impacted DJs ability to play that position. That’s been proven through two other schools as well. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to have a great offense with a mid-level QB like DJ. THAT, not receiving talent, was the clear and irrefutable number one issue with the offense. Not Tyler Grisham.
It was also proven when Cade Klubnick took over against UNC, and suddenly we were running an improved offense and receivers were “open”. In actuality, Cade is a better QB and sees the field much better. The ball was being distributed well among the same WRs DJ had.
In Cade’s 2nd year it became clear he was a developmental QB. He regressed somewhat from when he first came in his freshman year, and he looked like a young QB needing time to develop. At the same time, as you watched plays develop in the 2nd and 3rd levels, much like DJ, there were open options but Cades head wasn’t all there as with a lot of young QBs.
Enter Cade’s junior year, and before the season Dabo said he had taken a big jump. Dabo made the comments, as Cade goes so does the offense. He pointed out the obvious fact that QB is the most important position on the field. Well Dabo was right. Cade was a different QB from game 1. Distribution of the ball was much improved. Of course it helps any QB to have elite WR talent, but without the QB developing it will go to waste. Cade has developed and continues to grow. Without that, there is no offense. It doesn’t matter what surrounds the QB if he’s not capable.
So Grisham is of course a maturing coach. But he’s coaching the same way and recruiting the same way he has since day 1… when we had the most productive passing game in Clemson history.
And now that HS WRs see the level of QB at Clemson, they are more eager to play here. And yeah, top notch talent always helps coaching. Now that the QB and offense is productive with Cade producing (most games), it improves the level of play of everyone on the offense.
In summary, Grisham was not at fault for the primary issues affecting our offense in 2021-23. The primary issue was the QB.

Dabo started firing people and making major changes. Grisham took notice and stepped up his game.
