Deodorant

has got to be the most overpriced thing at the store. I sweater gawd, I grabbed some while I was at the store this weekend and struggled to find a stick under $10. The cheapest Publix had was maybe $7 and they don't have the kind i have been using anymore.
I buy all the groceries for the family, so I am aware what food cost, but my wife must have grabbed deodorant for me the last few times I have needed it because that blew my mind. I used to get a 2 pack of deodorant for less than a single stick cost me yesterday.
End old man rant about prices (But Nellie's organic eggs were $14.99 per dozen, nopes out on that)

Not that you would want to go to Walmarts.
Do you buy TP at the grocery store, too?

My statement still stands and when comparing identical brands that I was originally looking for, Walmart had the same price. Now, if I want to go with Old Spice, it looks like I can now get it for $5 but I believe that wasn't $5 at Publix. Or maybe I accidentally looked over it.

as others have pointed out, publix ain't the place to save money on toiletries you are paying for the convenience of getting it at the grocery store.
Target/Walmart (delivery only)/Amazon for non food household items

I get that Amazon, Walmart, etc will be cheaper, but having most deodorants more than $7 a stick and some being $12+ dollars is what the commentary was on. I am sorry if this presented in a "Help, where do I get deodorant" post. It was not intended to be that way.
I'M JUST ASKING WHY IS DEODORANTS SO EXPENSIVE AND WHO DAFUQQ IS PAYING $12 FOR A STICK OF DEODORANT?

I paid $7 and some change and missed out on a coupon because I wasn't paying attention. I didn't buy the Harry's, but I noted how much it was because that is the last kind I had.

1) Not a member 2) Closest Sam's to me is 15 miles, 2 bridges and at least 45 min of traffic away.
I'd pay someone the other $6 to NOT have to drive in that traffic. I haven't been to that part of the world since I flew to Tampa for work a year ago--it's about 2 miles from the airport.
I could walk to a Publix or a Harris Teeter, however.

Where did I say that?
You seem to have a one track mind with me. Apparently, if I say I'm not driving 45 minutes N Chs traffic to save $6, what I'm really saying is "women are the devil".

The aluminum is what keeps you from sweating. And I've heard when you initially make the switch you kinda stank for a while cause it lets out all these toxins in your skin or some shid like that.

about once every 3 months or so, Publix will have a buy one get one free sale on one of the 3 or 4 brands I'll use. And I buy like 6 of them. Then I'm set for many months.
Since COVID, I have played the "stock-up" game on toiletries like Deod, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. When I find a deal, I nab a year's supply at once. I almost never get below having a couple spares in the bathroom closet. When I get there, I start the deal hunt again.

Jun 2, 2025, 3:36 PM

Costco is tempting me though, but the one here is north of town and I am not sure I would every actually go up College all the way to Costco without having to be there for some other reason. That is the really busy part of town. The Target is up that way too, haven't been there since Christmas, but they are building one South of town.
There is a WalMart very close to me, but it is a shiddhole and I try and avoid it. Maybe I should rethink that to save $3 on deodorant.
