explain to me what they think we are seeing on this baseball team? Not to look a gift horse in the mouth but one has to admit that it's pretty remarkable.
What are the biggest differences in philosophy, lineup, hitting strategy, etc?
Thanks.

I see a team that is greatly benefiting from Jack Leggett’s presence in the clubhouse.

This baseball team is on fire 🔥. It was beyond time to move on from Leggett. I hate it didn't work out for Monte but Bakich is doing a great job.

It helps that Jack isn’t the head coach, so he doesn’t feel

Sorry but, I see a team that owes all the credit to a really good HC, and I just can't give Jack any of that credit bc his best years as HC are behind him, and that is why he is no longer the Tigers HC. SO, IMPO Balish deserves all the credit for what this Tiger is now doing. I'm not taking any credit from Jack bc he had some really good years as our Tiger baseball HC, but when he was let go, his best years had already been used up, and this team and our fans owe all the credit to new and improved HC Erik Bakich!!!

I’m no more educated . . .

than most of you reading this thread . . . but here’s a few random thoughts . . .
- Coach Bakich made one statement in an interview about a month ago that simply explained his hitting philosophy . . . he said, “the first two strikes, it’s ‘your @ bat’ . . . once you get 2 strikes, it becomes ‘OUR @ bat”.
- launch angles are no longer being stressed
- moving runners over IS NOW IMPORTANT and COACHED
- hitting to the opposite field is encouraged
- EVERYONE on the Team CAN and WILL BE CALLED UPON to bunt
- we don’t take nearly as many called 3rd strikes as the season has progressed
- more hitters are able to work the count deep
- Cannarella has been “Heaven Sent” . . . as has Amick
- Ingle is a beast defensively. (PERIOD)
- Grice’s mojo has been nourished and has returned
- pitching??? Coach Belanger is the difference
I’m sure I’ll think of more . . . but here’s a start . . .

Additional Random Thoughts . . .

- stealing bases is expected
- aggressive base running, sometimes to a fault, IS part of Coach B’s philosophy
- Bertram appears to be the glue to our infield . . . as a past Second Bagger, I love the quickness of his delivery to the shortstop on double plays
- Blackwell remains “more than solid” @ short . . . I dreamed of having his range and arm strength
- outfielders hit their cutoffs and most importantly . . . they now throw to the appropriate base . . . this is ALL Coaching!!!
- I love the subtleties of how Coach B uses the catcher’s mound visits to gain more warmup time in the bullpen . . . a tactic our past regime didn’t milk
- “Old School Baseball” is alive and well in Clemson . . . the simple things matter.

I'll remain silent--might not have the same major as Skeeta.

Culture has changed from day one. It took awhile but we have and a staff that knows this program is a blue blood and is well known. Baseball is second to football around these parts.

FB at Clemson has just always taken the top spot even though our Baseball program has mostly been really good but, FB has 3 National Championship to our baseball program having none, Clemson FB rules, and I'm OK with that regardless of what any other Clemson sports may or may not do, Go to all of our Clemson Tiger sports, always be the best that can be done, and again, FB rules!!!

how this happened. But,the other night, we had the bases loaded and Amick was at bat with a1-2 count I think. He battled it out, fouling off several pitches to get a walk that forced in a run. Next batter, Jarrell I think jacked one. Last year, Amick, or whomever was in that spot would have been swinging for the fences with a 1-2 count. It seems like we do an AWFUL lot more of that this year.
