was always better, and therefore never complained about the number of Bowls. After all, nobody had to watch and there is obvious demand.
However, my opinion is slowly changing due to the number of players whom sit out of the bowl games.
The bowls are probably beyond their peak and will soon likely start a major contraction.
IIRC, there are 40ish bowls right now(didn't bother to count)...80 teams. So I predict over the next 5 years there will be six to eight bowls disappear. That would leave 64 teams, which is a familiar number in NCAA parlance.
