My thoughts exactly! Can't the other schools protest? There are more schools outside of NC than inside.

It's not their home field. Duke has their own baseball stadium on campus. This is minor league Durhum Bulls Ballpark.

Do you think the game will ever be played in Spartanburg at the new stadium?

and what is the ballpark in greenville- not ours and a nice minor league park. ACCT used to draw a crowd in greenville. It draws flys in Durham. It should be moved around at least. This is the typical ACC bull stiff to over look Clemson.

I think the bigger issue is how crappy of event it looks like....

Durham is a nice park and centralized but the atmosphere, attendance, and all around is just lagging. Some of that is the nature of the ACC and crap fanbases. I watch alot of SEC ball too and its night and day the difference between the SEC tourney and the ACC tourney...any game, any day of the tournament. The SEC has bigger, more passionate fanbases which helps alot but the entire event is so much better.
Is what it is I guess.

Wasn't this move due to the NAACP boycotting SC and told ACC to do the same?
Durham is one of the NAACP's fav. City. Remember Duke Lacrosse case prosecuted by Durham D.A. who was later fired and disbarred.

Guaranteed Greenville would have a larger crowd for all the teams. I'll swear downtown is so busy everyday with foot traffic from residents and tourists. It feels like Disney World some days it's so crowded with people.

Back around the mid 2000's, I think maybe 2005 - 06, the ACC Baseball championship was played in Jacksonville. I am not sure where it had been held during the previous years, but I remember that the officials were raving about the attendance setting records during those years in JAX.
I went to a few of those games and recall that the baseball park was nearly full during most (if not all) of the games. I have wondered why it got pulled, except maybe because of geographic reasons.
I wish it would come back, even on a rotational basis. I think we certainly would draw bigger crowds than what I am seeing in Durham.
Go Tigers!!

I would love for it to move around. I dont hate Durham, we actually seem to play really well in that park. But I hate the reasoning for why they won't do it in south carolina. Just another reason the ACC is a joke of a conference.

They don’t want that tournament $ to leave the state of NC.

Charlotte makes more sense. The record attendance
May 22, 2025, 10:03 AM
|
|
71k I believe is from last year in Charlotte. If Greenville or any stadium in S.C. wants to ever be considered to host then it will need to expand their stadium to 10k. Greenville used to draw in the 30s. Jacksonville drew in the 60s. Most attendance peaks and single game records are going to be based on what teams make it to the weekend. Having it in the 10k parks in the Carolina’s gives them the best odds of hitting those #s. This tournament probably won’t reach record #s but with UNC, NCSU and Clemson in the final 8 and at least 1 game over the next 3 games guaranteed to feature one of those teams, you can expect attendance to start climbing. If any of those 3 make the final then you are probably looking at a high 50s Durham attendance.
