Hey you stoopid 20 something year-old morons. I want to personally thank you on behalf of all the rational, intelligent, true Clemson fans who actually know what it's like to be irrelevant in football. If Dabo leaves because of your absolute stupidity and naivete, God have mercy on your souls. You have not only made it unbearable to enjoy TNET, but you are about to cause the best thing to ever happen to Clemson football to leave. If you weren't so dumb, you might realize that this is the time you should start to feel embarrassed and ashamed. Thanks again.

Not a boomer, loser. I'm just not an idiot. I am 53. Who in the hellz are you going to get to replace Dabo that's worth crap? And, who in the world would want to coach at a place that won't tolerate a couple of down years after a long period of sustained excellence. Go away.

If Dabo leaves it is because he was not ALL IN. Quit trying to blame the fans for his thin skin. Clemson was here long before Dabo and Clemson Football was relevant long before Dabo.
Maybe Dabs should stop threatening to quit and leave every time someone says something negative about his Coaching.

It's not thin skin when you defend all the work and effort put forth year in and year out, staff, top to bottom, players and ancillary help, by calling idiots, idiots.
It's defending hard work and effort, especially against idiots that have < 5% of the information.
He had every right to mark that territory and idiot is being kind.

I agree he had a right to defend himself Monday night especially in the heat of the moment. However, Dabo has made a point to tell the World how much of a Christian he is and how his Christian values control his life. If this is the case, then Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Dabo probably should have calmed the storm rather than stoke the flames. Being a leader, his words mean something. A statement from him after the fact would have gone a long way. If nothing else, a statement from him today, even if not related to Tyler, could go a long way to uniting the fan base instead of dividing it. I have always been a Dabo supporter, but I am tired of the narrative that he will leave if the fans don't kiss his @$$ at all times. Dabo preaches Christianity and I have no doubt he tries to live it, but his actions this week weren't exactly what I look for in a Christian.
His words can truly unite the fan base once again if he chooses to do so. He has the power to bring us all together again. Instead, his actions this weak have divided the base even more.
Just my opinion. I love Clemson, I love Clemson Football, I love the fans, but I will admit I am wavering slightly on the Coach I have had so much respect for. My wavering has nothing to do with his current record either, but rather his current demeanor and his constant threats to leave.
No matter what I say, it won't matter. To half of you all I am a heathen and a Dabo hater, to the other half I am telling the truth. Either way, it is a no-win situation for a guy who loves Clemson.

You say numerous? I have yet to find him threaten to quit, but being one of 5 active coaches with a National Championship, I am guessing he lands a gig quicker than we are able to hire the next National Championship winner.
“I’ve got a long way to go in this profession,” Swinney said in response to a question about the difference between fair and unfair criticism. “If they want me back here, I’m going to fight like crap to get this back to the standard.
I work for the board of trustees and the president and the AD, and if they're tired of me leading this program, all they've got to do is let me know.
He did state that he intends to coach another 15 years whether it is at Clemson or somewhere else.
Being under appreciated is frustrating in any profession. I have left a job for that reason and found a better gig. Best career move I ever made.

I get your point and maybe it is semantics, but the way he couches leaving is if the AD and BOT no longer believe in him and what he is doing, he will move on and find a program that wants him.
It is kind of a veiled threat but I think what he is really saying is he is here until the administration, and not fans, show him the door.

But he's implied on several occasions that he loves Clemson because there's an appreciation fanbase vs an expectation fanbase and if that happens (Clemson changing) then he'll go somewhere else where the fanbase is appreciative.
He made similar accusations after the coot win that felt like a loss yada yada.

Maybe showing a little of that "vinegar" on the field would be better than showing a little of that "vinegar" on a call-in show.

For me, how the team responds will determine for me if Dabo handled it the right way by putting the team first. If they come into the ND game fired up and playing well then they will have responded the right way. If they come in looking sloppy and unmotivated then I will look at this week as another unforced error and big distraction.

He's the leader of that program and doesn't owe the idiots a damn thing. If you don't want to be treated as an idiot, then don't be an idiot? Tyler knows he was out of line and even made a comment to the same when Dabo was asked in review and Dabo stuck to his guns.
I read Obed's post, but my view of the Clemson fan base having changed began with the Quackers and the STS refuse around the time of Herp Derp. If words meant something, then those interlopers would realize how wrong they were, calling for heads and not just Dabo's, have some integrity and remain silent, but they're back, because they feel somehow entitled and are emotionally charged because of something they don't control. At all.
They can take that crybaby crap and shove it up their gerbilling arses.
I know you love Clemson, as do I, but the whiny, boohoo, boo boo, rolling around on the floor kicking and screaming, is absurd.
He put an idiot and those that rallied to an idiot, in their place as he should.

I feel bad for the 98.5% lady that called in to voice her support of Dabo, and hope for 15 more years with him...only to be told he would still be coaching in 15 years, just might be somewhere else. I wonder if that lady ever got over that let down. Tylerrrr was just a stupid troll, and Dabo is still trying to dig that hook outta his asp.

I don’t think Dabo needs advice on how to comport himself as a Christian. No one is perfect. Is he not allowed to also be human? I think many people would handle the pressure and complaining with far less grace. He got riled and let someone have it. That’s it.

Agree Blueridge. Orel Hershiser, in an interview before a baseball game, was questioned about being aggressive while on the mound. His reply; “ Just because I’m a Christian doesn’t mean I have to be a wimp.” DABO defended himself. In the Bible, Jesus defended the Temple, Gods house. And yes, He got a bit feisty!

Let those who are without sin cast the first stone. ! IMO Dabo has earned the respect from Clemson’s fans. He is also human. The best of Christians make mistakes too. We are fortunate as Christian’s to receive God’s forgiveness. And with the pressure Dabo has had to endure a lot of pressure. Some of it he has put on himself and pressure from fans being so critical. No matter how thick your skin is everyone reaches a point where enough is enough. Maybe Dabo has reached that point.
I glad we have a Coach like Dabo who loves Clemson, is confident but feels the pressure from adversity. Dabo accepts blame for the programs adversity. But sometimes a fan can push the wrong buttons. Our coach being human can reach a point where the criticism deserves a good tongue lashing reply.
We will never know how much Tyler’s negative sarcastic call may have hurt Dabo’s recruiting efforts and the attitude of the players that may carry over to Saturday’s game. At some point in every person’s life they need to hear that they are still appreciated even during the difficult times. IMO Dabo is at that point but some of the fans are not listening.

Just one question Tatted, when was Clemson as relevant as we are now before Dabo came along?? I know we had that 81 season but growing up I don’t ever remember Clemson being a national brand. I know you aren’t one if the ones who just berate 24/7 365 but I don’t understand the point of Clemson was this big place before Dabo arguement.

than we are now.
Currently, we are 4-4 overall, 2-4 in the conference, good for 10th place in the ACC.
So per your question, any season where we are above .500 would make us more relevant than we currently are. Take your pick.

Mjc3194® I am not saying we were more relevant then; I am just saying we have been relevant before Dabo. Now, with that being said, Dabo has done an amazing job of marketing Clemson football. No doubt, Dabo has made Clemson University a lot of money and he deserves a ton of credit. However, there was a Clemson University Football team before Dabo and there will one after he retires.
Also, I am not against the salary that Dabo makes. I think he should make as much as he can. I think he has been an investment and a good one at that. I just don't like the events of this week and how it played out.

Gotcha I’m in the same boat knowing that Clemson will be fine regardless but some actually do think that Clemson has always been this big but that’s just not true. Dabo has single handedly been the best investment Clemson has ever made in terms of football success and investment into the university/ surrounding areas. Just hope we can string together some big wins and the fan base can come back together. At the end of the day we’re all Tigers and I think Dabo will make necessary changes this offseason.

If Dabo would quit his job based on the opinion of a 20 year old, do you really think he's cut out to continue to coach Clemson?

I believe he is currently hearing it from more than just this guy and used the call in show to vent about what he is hearing from the disgruntled.

It’s not correct to stereotype all 20 year olds into one category.
Not speaking about he morality of it, you are just incorrect to do that. Wrong. Not right.

He ain't going no where unless he is fired. Dude has it made at Clemson. If he can't take a little criticism then maybe he isn't cut out to be a coach anymore. Got to be tougher than a fan asking you some tough questions.

I'm glad Tyler had the guts to ask what a lot of fans are thinking. Do you really believe Day,Smart ,or Saban would allow their respective programs to fall to the level that Clemson has this year?

Ugh. Another cultist. News flash. We are already back into mediocrity. Dabo has to be held accountable like everyone else and I was around for the the tommy west/Bowden eras. People complained then as they should and as they should with this product. We can appreciate what he did in the past, he’s been compensated. We don’t need to be complacent, or we are just allowing this to continue. I’d like to continue to watch elite football and this just isn’t it.

You have been on TNet for six months. It seems that all you ever do is talk down to the fans. Are you here for the team, or just to get thrills from trying to make others feel bad? It's very tiresome.

Thanks again.

ignore the fact that Dabo's always said, "I'll stay as long as Clemson will have me." He made that clear after saying all the crap written here when he addressed Tyler. His attitude isn't going to change over a loud mouthed fringe wing of Clemson fans.
I mean really, quit an 11 million dollar a year job over pride? Economics, my friend.

Great Post !!! 👍👍👍 I just hope these fans that fall into this category are listening and realize how negative affects their comments. Their post and comments are part of the problem. It’s these 1.5% of our fans Dabo is referring to. Even this small number can have huge negative impact on recruiting, performance of current players and coaching.
You negative 1.5% make your point and please try to move forward think more positive about Clemson’s future. Appreciate the 12 years of double digit wins, 2 additional National Championships, multiple ACC Titles and 7 consecutive beat down of the coots. And support the HC that was a major reason all of this happened.
I have always contemplated how much success Ken Hatfield could have had at Clemson if he had been given the support DF was given. Support KH earned based on his past HCing success.
