Clemson/Leaving ACC/court cases/realignment

I hope everyone saw Pete Thamel's tweets this morning, where he said he had heard from several sources at Clemson and FSU that there were no plans at either school to inform the ACC of intent to leave by that magical August 15th date (which means both schools will be in the ACC through at least the 2025 season).
Considering all the nonsense thrown out by those Big 12 folks and Greg Swaim, it's good to see a national writer echo what I've been saying for months - this is going to be decided in the courts, and as I wrote last week, it's a marathon, not a sprint. I don't ever brag on our coverage here, but I will this one time. We have been all over this since the beginning, and we urged caution when certain media entities went nuts last year over a certain Oct. 15th date. We've created videos, and we've covered the court cases and broke news when it needed to be broken.
A few weeks ago, I wrote that I wouldn't be shocked to hear that UNC was involved, and now we hear that the folks in Chapel Hill are extremely interested in seeing what happens with FSU and Clemson.
That said, keep tuned in with us. I feel like we are dialed in on this and will continue to bring you the truth, not conjecture, and not something for paid clicks.

UNC has to wait as their case would be held in NC; thus major shafting.

None of them need a bunch of lawyers, they only need one that knows the laws that work in all cases of contract law from top to bottom and from left to right or right to left, get that lawyer and they save time and money. There are those types of lawyers out there somewhere, they just need to find them and when or if they do, its case closed!!!

Good stuff David...but this most likely gets settled (not in courts). I would caution ppl to not read too much here from national reporters. The leaks/info they get is being fed to them on purpose. The ACC has diminishing returns the longer this gets dragged out. Better get out while the getting is good.
That was NOT a good look by Philips today....less would've been more for them. Clemson is suing them for a reason.
UNC is very involved here....and has been for a while....

Im shocked he would bring up Swofford. Using TPs and going on that long and looking very poorly--it just seemed very odd.

The only shady dealings are by those who sign a contract, profit by it, praise it and then try to find a way to weasel out when something that smells better comes along...the ACC has been good for my Clemson Tigers...we would not have won two natties in the SEC or the BIG...just an opinion from a loyal 54 year Clemson fan! We still have notheard from DABO!

At this point in time, I don't think that there is any real indication or motivation that the ACC (and the majority of schools in the conference) would be inclined to settle for anything less than the relief being sought in their pleadings. Given that there are some novel arguments being made by the parties in more than one jurisdiction, they may want to take these cases all the way to trial. This isn't a fender bender or slip and fall case. Losing FSU and Clemson without full compensation before that K termination is an existential crisis for the league. Plus it opens the door for UNC to follow. Again existential. I imagine the league will fight this tooth and nail all the way to the bitter end.

Novel arguments cannot override basic principles of law...contract law, patent law, estoppel, SOL, multiple signings by large staffs of lawyers, university presidents, concurrence by boards and overall increases in revenue! Right now all that's happening is FSU (FSWTC) and Clemson are running our mouths about maltreatment and how valuable and popular we are and where the show should take place...where to go parking on the first date...no real law issues...when FSU has to come up with facts to cover their big mouth...the party is over! Is this your signature, how many times, how long has it been, did you give the money back, when did you protest in court! Thank you, next case!

Something tells me you wanted to be a little more emotive in this post @DavidHood®. Your restraint and professionalism is showing.
Unfortunately, conjecture and unsubstantiated rumors pass for ‘news’ these days. I’m glad you don’t just throw crap at the wall to see what sticks. Keep it up DHS!!!

Thanks for your level headed work. The media for sports, politics, etc is sensationalized bs most of the time. It is hard to get a legitimate take on things.

"A few weeks ago, I wrote that I wouldn't be shocked to hear that UNC was involved, and now we hear that the folks in Chapel Hill are extremely interested in seeing what happens with FSU and Clemson." Extremely interested? I don't think anyone said that. Some national reporters said that UNC is interested in watching how FSU and Clemson plays out. Otherwise, the "folks in Chapel Hill" have no say. The "folks in Raleigh" have all the say. https://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/acc/unc/article286071796.html

It’s definitely a tough time for most as we dig out of the hole our system is currently in. The BIS will definitely hurt the dollar hopefully we can survive it and pay down debt or go to the Gold Standard.
College football money could be hurt greatly by either senerio.
They are trying to push us to a digital currency so they can control by it world wide.
It’s going to be a big ride for college football in my opinion.

All of this is Clemson and FSU getting their name out there to the other conferences and to ESPN. I’m convinced espn is not going to renew the media agreement in 2026/7 and then pull in the 4 teams they want into the sec taking them to 20. They will then have 2 ten team divisions who will play 9 in-division games, 2 crossovers, and 1 open game for the schools/tv to choose. The top 3 from each division will go into a playoff. The BIG (fox) will go to 20 and do the same. The Big12 will do the same and you’ll have a 18 team playoff.
The acc will be raided and die
