Clemson has established a new floor

It was an off year I can't sugar coat it too much. But

We saw some good and exciting Clemson football games. There were blowouts and heart attacks.

And it was a bad year.

We got to watch real thorough breed football players put on Clemson Tiger paws and compete at a high level. We also saw some unheralded players take on huge roles in this team and impress us with their heart for football. And all were men of character we can be proud of.

And it was a bad year.

We beat a big time college football program that was a play away from being a national champion last year in a game that everyone in the country had the opportunity to see.

And it was a bad year.

We hosted College Gameday twice. Something that hasn't been done by a team outside the SEC in a long time. And put the world on notice that Clemson is a football program to be taken seriously.

And it was a bad year.

We had an outside shot at playing in the big game late in November.

And it was a bad year.

We still have a chance to watch this team play in a BCS bowl and finish the year in the top 10 again.

And it was a bad year.

Too many people bought into the got to get it done this year mentality. The only problem with this mentality is the fear that we will never get another chance. That's just isn't the case. I don't want to be a Clemson fan with something to look forward to just next year but for the next 20 or 30 years. If our worst season is 10-2 over the next 20 years I expect no less than 5 ACC championships and quite a few College Football Playoff appearances.

The bottom line is this was a pretty good bad year. And if this is our new floor I can't wait to see the ceiling. All In.

You are right. Problem is that you are going to get blasted for saying this. i agree with your comments and really look forward to seeing the young talent that was redshirted and will be playing next season. GO TIGERS!!!

We basically ended the Clemsoning term. Continued a remarkable run of remaining in the top 25. And the top tier recruits are still considering a small school in SC as a place they want to play football.
