Check out the new “School Yellow” stripe added over the Orange one and the addition of a tiny 8” wide folding ladder which works well to re-enter 14’ Skiff boat if your foot isn’t wide.
Out 5 hours w/o turning off new Tahatsu 15 hp motor and now it has about 50 hrs since new in late April.
Wanted to check out back parts of these islands (particularly Cat over to west side of Fripp) where I’d never gone before in my Boston-Whaler Jet Boat and was amazed with the wide & long stretches of beautiful un-inhabited waterways..as well as areas with some lovely & huge waterfront homes/docks/boats and amazingly saw only 3 people out enjoying their property (all working probably to pay for it) and only one non-American flag (a college flag with a “G” on it).
1st Pic shows engine at 2/3 speed (tops is 25mph) with background drawn up showing Beaufort SC, it’s City Marina and draw bridge to right.
Oh, at 7pm after a long haul over some really long & beautiful stretches of fairly calm waters I took a nice cool dip & swim while looking over at lovely little Beaufort as the sun descended into a Clemson shade of Orange.

Look down at far left side of map & see Capers Landing (8) where I had already come down ICW from Beaufort, past Parris Island Marine Base, then taken a left into Cowen Creek, under low bridge at Hwy 21 leading to St Helena Island, passing Warsaw Island, then straight towards Coosaw Island, passing it on left side for 2 miles, then back to take left into large bed of water called Morgan Creek, past Dataw Island Marina and straight at towards Morgan’s Island where there’s a long & wide run towards the ocean..
so stopped & turned around then since tide was changing & waters were going down (2 ft already) and had to snake back towards ICW near Parris Island. What a fun adventurous day.
