I would have been just fine if he would've been fired last night, and just let one of his assistants take the team to the dance.
If Brownell has a 1 and done in the dance he should be fired for real, and personally I'll be happy whenever Brownell is told to pack it up bc his services are no longer needed. Even if Neff doesn't intend to hire an elite coach for our basketball team, I believe he could find someone to repeat the job that Brownell has done for 14 years for a lot cheaper that what Brownell is being paid...
If Clemson can only afford to pay for 1 elite coach, I would rather it be with our FB team over any sport that Clemson sponsors bc no other sport don't come close to FB as my favorite sport. But, I hope that the Clemson administration will decide that it's time for Clemson to have an elite basketball program, and they will give Neff the go ahead to hire an elite coach that can turn our basketball program into an elite program like it should and deserves to be. Go Tigers and win win win it whatever sport we play!!!..

But if your ultimate priority is football, why do you care how the basketball team/teams perform or who they get to coach? Not trying to be a jerk. I’m trying to understand your logic. You see, you state that football is what you care about the most (even if it means the other sports teams fair worse from it) but then you follow that up with saying you want Clemson to be “elite” in basketball. ???? Why would it matter what the basketball team does or doesn’t do when football is the end all be all of Clemson athletics? See what I mean?

we are if we play like we did last night. Outplayed and out-coached in every facet of the game. Not sure how there was no fire or excitement last night, it was painful and perplexing to say the least.

I have had enough of BrownL. Was hoping this year would be different, they weren't ready, are you kidding me? Clemson deserves much better, this was the best team in years and there is nothing to show for it. 7 or 8 seeding is a death wish.

7 or 8 has to play number 1 or 2 seed second game. Tragedy that this team couldn’t beat a Terri Boston College team.

It was without a doubt painful to watch BC just shoot all over and around our guys throughout that entire game, and to see Brownell roll his eyes and look up at the screen hurt even more. I finally had to shut my computer down and turn the TV channel bc I was getting so pisssed and I didn't want to post anything on T-Net that I would've been sorry for this morning, so I shut it all down and found me a pretty good western on the Prime video TV channel and done my best to put that game out of my mind, and I didn't find out what the final score was until I logged into T-Net this morning at about 10:30.
Watching most of last nights game done something bc I'm just not excited about us going to the dance bc I know we'll have to be pared up with a pretty chitty team for our team to get past the 1 and done that we've gotten use to under the Brad Brownell leadership...
I wish that I knew what it was that had me fooled about Brownell that had me taking up for him for his first full 10 years before I came to my senses that he wasn't going to win Jack Chit at Clemson regardless of how much time he was given bc he was just another run of the mill middle of the pack basketball coach that would never do anything really special at Clemson even if he was given 30 years to turn our program around. Like what's already been said, the administration and Neff are probably well satisfied with what they have in Brownell, and he would have to do something really bad before they gave any though about getting rid of him, and big chunk of the basketball fan base are satisfied that Brownell is a nice, respected man, and he could stay a lifetime and do no more than he has as far as they are concerned. For myself, I'm well over him and I do regret standing up for him the 10 years that I did, and I hope that he is fired before our team has another practice, good riddance as far as I'm concerned!!!

The hard truth is that we have 4 starters graduating and moving on after this year. If we can't win with them, next year is going to be really bleak! There probably aren't even players entering the portal who would want to transfer to Clemson. I feel so badly for the players who have invested themselves in the Clemson program, only to have the journey end this way.

Brownell is a great person but cannot move the program into
the top of the conference and win games they should win

I cringe at any of those potential matchups with St Johns, Ole Miss, or Indiana State...

Miss st - btw. Not ole miss.
I hope we do get bumped down to the 7 and play miss st. I think they're propped up being in the sec. Remind me of a va tech, Miami type team. Think the matchups would be favorable for us with them. I'm not impressed.
St John's could give us fits. Well coached team. Disciplined. Probably plays above their net rating. Jmho.

Yes I will still watch it until we're out, BUT .... we ARE NOT a 6 or 7 seed as far as how we play.
I'm so used to this w/ Brownell. Please a new coach and some goals for basketball team.

This was supposed to be Coach Brownell’s best team. He sure messed that up and if they play like they did last night it doesn’t matter what seed they will lose mightily.

Unreal... Brownell can't get a win over the bottom teams in the ACC when it matters... One and done in the ACC, and I have zero faith in anything other than One and Done in the big dance. We need to get a new coach, he just doesn't cut UT year in and year out. He goes One and Done in the NIT, how do you think this will go in the ACTUAL tournament. He can't pull the team together late season every single year. Nothing has changed this year other than a couple of great wins early in the year. He failed the home crowd ALL season long, he failed in the final game where we were a shoe in for the 4 seed, he failed in the 1st round of the ACC tournament, and he'll fail in the 1st round of March Madness. I'm sick of living in mediocrity and disappointment every year under his tenure. Time to move on!
