Skeert to ask, but APM's family beach vacay this year will be at IOP.

APM is too Sakerlina-y to not hit the beach at least once a year. But OIB, our traditional place for 20+ years, is no longer a great option due to lilAPM and lilAPMette needing to fly in.
So we gone Chawstun and stay at IOP. We have not yet booked our VRBO. Thinking Wild Dunes for pool access, but there are a couple of houses closer to the Windjammer that could be OK.
Have been to IOP recently but have not stayed there in years. What would you recommend as my best options for accommodations? 5 people.

if aliens destroy the planet in retaliation for our own alien terrorism assuming we accidentally wiped out an entire species that assumed noise to be poison and our spacecrafts that are currently in space playing the Beatles were to reach these beings and it killed them and another species was made aware of the genocide and those beings seek revenge on earthlings for our own alien massacre.

I'm not a WD fan; its too separating back there and there are too many rules.
There a bunch of houses available for weekly rentals on Airbnb / Vacasa / Island Realty out there with a pool.
If I were doing what you're doing, I'd stay as close to the Windjammer/Dinghy/other stores/shops as you could, so you can walk to everything and not have to mess with driving. Anywhere south of about 7th avenue and north of about 27th Avenue is too far to walk, IMO.
21st avenue, where I used to live, is just about perfect IMO. There are a few rentals on 20th and 21st, even down to 24th-26th have a few with pools. And being in the middle of, for example, 23rd avenue wouldn't stop me. It's a little further walk to the beach, but it's an easy walk. The beach is less crowded on the north end, too.

No matter how busy it is, the bartenders there have one speed..and it ain't fast.
I ate there about 3 weeks ago--still get my local's discount. Love that place.

Buy 5-man tent at Walmart, camp on the beach, move tent everyday so you don't get busted by the law, return tent to Walmart at the end of the vacation because they'll take it back with no questions asked.
