Actually, that was kinda sneaky of Coach Beamer. He knew that motion could easily be misinterpreted by the other team, so he warned the refs ahead of time. Seems a wee bit sneaky. Or was it gamesmanship?

That’s why you see KO teams sprint all the way to the end zone until the whistle blows. Coot signaled (unofficially) that he’s giving up on the play. Illinois players bit and began to give up too. Play was still alive. I’m not justifying what coot did but that’s what I saw.

No. Nick H returned it to around the 25 yard line. Illinois did a good job covering the field and not being fooled. But it was definitely a trick play... and very sneaky. It could have resulted in a huge play.
