Does he even know we have a golf team. No other AD has. Larry had to do it on his own which is exactly why it irks me to death to hear ppl and coaches whine about facilities, support, and needing more money in order to win.

Comparatively, we got in early as a "major" school supporting soccer. Soccer facilities were much better than other schools and there was more support. Back in those days, other smaller schools were much more focused on it (see Davidson locally) or SUI, Hardwick, Howard, St. Louis, USF, etc. We were the first ACC/Southern School. Heck some other schools stuggled to match our 1970/80s until the 90s (see NC State). Then you started having wealthier schools hedge in as well.

40 straight season in the NCAA's, not many College Golf programs at any level I would venture to guess could come close that...only one at the top of my head would be Oklahoma State

but I do know that Ok State has a powerhouse team year in and year out.
I always felt like they had an advantage b/c NCAA's was at the home course frequently, but there has got to be more than that.
What makes Ok State so good each year?
