Bilas is truly annoying to listen to.

He was on the floor on the largest/loudest LJ crowd ever

dook was #1 and the fire marshalls were elsewhere..every seat was taken and every aisle was packed..I think it was actually louder than DV in that triple OT game against Miami a decade’ish ago..Moose Campbell played GMan straight up and won..We were undefeated at home that year and won the ACC regular season title..My favorite night ever at LJ.. and I guarantee you, Mike Gminski remembers it.

That was a very loud Littlejohn and a huge win.

But to clarify, we did not win the ACC regular season that year. We were 8-6 in the ACC that year, but we played Duke super close in both games. We beat them in OT in Littlejohn when they were #1, and they beat us in double OT in Cameron to close out the regular season.
Even though we didn’t win the ACC regular season or the ACC championship (we beat UVA in the first round but lost to Maryland in the second round), we did go on our best run ever in the NCAA Tournament, making the Elite Eight.

Giminski is a good guy. I talked with him while walking into Littlejohn before a game years ago. Good guy.

He’s been through a lot recently. Lost his fiancée a few years ago. He began drinking a lot (and I mean, a LOT). He would call a game and then get home and drink for a day or two, which was possible with his work schedule.
Thankfully, he recognized that he had a problem and got help. He’s been sober for over a year now.
