I'm afraid his inability to catch a football will get exposed in the NFL. If I'm a QB, I have no fear throwing his direction as I know an interception is not a possibility. It's either a catch, pass interference or incompletion.
I'm hopeful, Fields or Mullen can take over that lockdown position and be able to intercept the football at least once in a season.

I've pretty much seen every play the last 2 years. I can remember one late last year that he should have caught. Maybe one or two others that he could have gone for but he just swiped them away. We will all find out at the combine. I'm sure he can catch a football, maybe not great at it but I'm sure he can make some decent catches.

The kid gave up 11 completions all season...in 15 games he allowed his receiver to catch the ball 11 times...he lined up against every teams best receiver and only gave up ELEVEN completions ALL SEASON.

I feel that he goes for the PBU as opposed to the INT. Maybe that is the secret to his success - nobody scores on him. If the other team can't score and your team can score at will (only if you are behind or tied ??) then the outcome is not in doubt.

Thanks for the reasonable response. Clearly he will be missed. No one thinks we replace him with a better DB (maybe Lostlocal, he seems to be a big time DB) immediately and no one is questioning his college cover skills. I just think if you never even try to catch the ball an NFL QB and receiver will notice.

It's pretty well known that Mackenside was born without knuckles in his hands. It's a rare condition, but he still fought and strove to overcome it and play football.
Yes, he can't curve his hands to catch a ball. Yes, it looks like somebody banging two ping pong paddles together when he claps......SO WHAT???? He still can play DB!!!!!!!
