against (obviously besides us). I'm really torn with FSU- I certainly was rooting for them against Michigan, but since we go head to head with them on many recruits, I mostly root against them. I will be rooting for them against Alabama. I always root against Louisville and UNC. I root for Wake to do well because they don't seem to bother me. How about you?

I also root for VT in conference play. I always want FSU to win in conference play as well, unless they beat us of course.
I like VT because of Beamer and I like FSU because of Bowden. Obviously anything to the detriment of Clemson then I pull the other way.
I always pull against Maryland and GT, because they both have the worst fan bases I ever seen.

Dean is overrated? I remember when we had something like a 10-point lead with ~ 1 minute to play, and they beat us at home. I can never bring myself to think Dean was overrated. JMO.

Simple. I almost always pull for ACC schools against non-conference foes, unless it's to Clemson's detriment. In conference games I root for whichever outcome benefits the Tigers.

I too have a soft spot for Wake, but I DO know why. My Dad (late 1920s) and my brother (early 1960s)both played football at Wake.

I can not and will not ever pull for FREE SHOES UNIVERSITY, I know we aren't supposed to hate anyone in this world but they make it hard not to, and by "they" I mean(fan base, players, and little dumbo Fisher).
If I had to pull for someone other than Clemson it would probably be Georgia tech or Virginia tech.

Do you mean to tell there is someone else besides Clemson?. I tend to be a positive person, one who pulls for whoever is playing the Gamecocks, the Irish, and any SEC team, except Florida. After all, that's where I got my first degree. I also tend to be fair and balanced which gives me the opportunity to hope, in some games, that both teams could lose.

I only play the conference card when they are playing an SEC team or a blue blood like Michigan or OSU
That said, it's hard to root for FSU, UNC, UL, in just about every scenario...

And by "root" I mean I'm glad they win...not like I'm emotionally vested.
In conference I kind of like Wake and Duke because they're always underdogs. I like Pitt because of family and NCSU and Syracuse because I have a lot of friends from each.

Before we play them, I hate all ACC teams except for when they play out of conference. Once we play them and beat them, I'll be rooting for them to win.

VT because of Fuente. HS QB in Tulsa when we were there, great guy even back then. Screwed by OU.
UVA because of their Bball coach, and I have UVA friends who pull for Clemson.
Duke because of Cutcliff.
Miami because of Richt.
I hate GT and will as long as PJ is there, but for some reason I love seeing them beat ooc teams. Maybe its like seeing our neighborhood a$$hole beat the other neighborhood a$$hole. But if that was the case I would pull for UL against ooc, but no. So I don't know why.
Everybody else can go 0-12 for all I care.

I never liked State fans, but my kids went to school there. I like to see them happy, except when they play us. Last year my kid sent a text to me saying "we're about to kick a FG and win"...I texted back..."or not" My other kid is now a senior and still likes Clemson and State about the same.

I like the Duke FB coach (Cutcliffe). I liked him as OC at UT, and HC at Ole Miss, and he's the ONLY reason I like Duke in football (the ONLY sport). I truly admire the guy and wish him well. He does a program right like Dabo does.

I root for our conference teams when they play out of conference games and use to root for teams that would benefit Clemson's cause (divisional race) when they would play a team ahead of us or equal in the conference standings. Besides that I root for whichever team plays UNC, FSU, or GT. Also, added any team who played U of L and NCSU last year and will probably keep rooting against U of L and NCSU until those two head coaches are no longer at those universities.
I would like to see Bronco Mendenhall succeed at UVA, so I guess I sort of root for them.
