This actually makes a lot of sense. Given all the injuries we've had the last 3 years, I'm surprised we didn't do this before now.
I'm guessing this might have been an idea from a new person on staff (ahem...Garrett).

I’ve always thought this would be better.. basically 1s vs 1s and 2s vs 2s.. playing with the guys you practice with. Should make for a better show for the fans at least

I did too, at first. But had to read it again - first team and second team are “teamed up with” not “against”.
So Team 1 is O1 and D2
And Team 2 is O2 and D1
Only thing to decide is the colors…

I don't think that is possible. For both #1's to play against the #2's as Swinney says, they have to be on the same team. So it has to be the first team against the second team.

Dabo said at the start of spring that he had to have a knee cleaned up and wouldn't be a full go this spring. He specified it was not the knee he had torn an ACL with last spring.

I think it's good for our starters to all experience some success, but I'd also like to see strength vs. strength for maybe three possessions to really let us know what we've got.

It really doesn't say how it's going to work. Will it be every other series? Or each quarter will be the different groups.

Why is everybody struggling to understand the article? When the 1st O is on the field, they will be playing the 1st D. 2nd O will be playing against 2nd D.
Orange Team: 1 O & 2 D
White Team: 2 O & 1 D
That would make it impossible for the 2s to be playing against the 1s.

When are they going to publish the roster??? In past years they've had it out well before gameday. I get that it's 1st offense and 2nd defense against 2nd offence and 1st defense, but we have no idea who that is. Who has filled slots left by seniors? What changes have been made since last year?
It's hard to get excited about a game when you don't even know who's playing on which side.

I hear you.
On one hand, these practices can (& often do) help figure out the roster.
On the other hand, there literally is a roster for this practice & I'm not sure why it would be kept "secret" since the last practice last week.

Still not sure why the delay but this will help tomorrow.
White team then will be led by quarterback Cade Klubnik, who will have Antonio Williams, Phil Mafah, Jake Briningstool, Brannon Spector, Keith Adams Jr., Cole Turner, Harris Sewell, Tristan Leigh and Blake Miller among more.
The White team defense features Wade Woodaz, DeMonte Capehart, TJ Dudley, Ruke Orhorhoro, Vic Burley, Payton Page, Zaire Patterson and Greg Williams among more.
The Orange team offense will be led by Hunter Helms and Christopher Vizzina at QB, as well as Will Shipley, Noble Johnson, Josh Sapp, Zack Owens, Trent Howard and Will Putnam and more.

I still can't understand why there's never been a sell-out crowd for the spring game (particularly after the 2 title-winning seasons) but putting the star offense vs. the star defense can't hurt, even if it's more of a side effect for Cade building his confidence.
