Been a hoot in here today, but a final appreciation for DJT:

The man ended poorly. Very, very poorly. But I find it helpful to remember none of us are perfect and like to give credit where due. We all know his foibles, if they weren't so large he would have easily been re-elected. As I said earlier today, DJT just does not have leadership or decorum in him. That said, he did some good things as President. Here are a few:
1) Bombed the sh*t out of ISIS, as promised. Actually, he did this without even having to directly bomb ISIS. He dropped the MOAB and they got the message. Haven't seen a beheading video in quite some time. He even dealt well with Russia and Iran in that region because he wasn't afraid to do what was called for when the opportunity arose. Good job DJT.
2) Lowered taxes and got corporations back to doing business in the USA. The economy was booming until COVID. One thing DJT understands is business.
3) Told it like it was to NATO and others. "We have paid your way long enough. Don't like me? I don't care. We're not Socialists" (can't say this anymore). Good job DJT.
4) Brokered several historic agreements for Middle Eastern countries recognizing Israel. Most people are clueless as to what a big deal this really is.
5) Got us out of sh*t "deals" like NAFTA, that Pacific thing, the global warming thing, etc.
Annnnd...that's all I got. But those 5 are not insignificant.

5 is by far his best, ending global warming is probably the most mind-blowing accomplishment of any presidency.

I really liked how he took Soleimani off the board.

And Iran's response went from shock to trying to take the high ground to, finally, an empty military gesture that resulted in a downed commercial airplane. That whole incident, from a geopolitical point of view, went really well for us and terribly for Iran. That might be my favorite thing that Trump did.

Can't believe President Trump didn't continue the great tradition of presidential transitions in which your DOJ organizes spying and entrapment of people on the opposing side

Bush2, and Obama.
Was it perfect? No. Was it good for our economy overall, IMO, yes.
We'll see how the new NAFTA does before saying it's good or bad.

6) His EPA cleaned up superfund sites at a remarkable rate and light years moreso than the previous administration. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2020/09/07/superfund-activists-donald-trump-minden-wv-400921
7) Mexico went from providing transportation and supplies to Central American immigrants to stopping them at THEIR Southern border. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-51180456
And as recently as this week the same happened in Guatemala: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-55699540
Of course, under "Why are so many coming now?": "The promise of new immigration policies under Mr Biden's administration is also thought to have spurred some migrants to make an attempt to reach the US border...Speaking to NBC News, an unnamed senior Biden administration official said migrants attempting to claim asylum in the US "need to understand they're not going to be able to come into the United States immediately". (amazing)
8) Two Vaccines in less than a year (and I believe one or two coming soon?). Credit obviously goes to the private companies and scientists who made this possible, but I question if this would have happened without an administration willing to put Warp Speed in place and streamline the testing/approval process and pay for a stockpiling of doses before final approval. A vaccine this fast is unprecedented.
Ah well. I will always marvel at how a man so completely devoid of morals or character was able to accomplish so much, when great, accomplished men seem to just piddle along in the Oval.
Major failings, to me, besides of course his lack of leadership and...as I say after each administration...complete disregard for spending restraint.

ATL,
How good can a President be if he does not have leadership skills ? That seems like requirement #1.
