Remember DOGE? Run by Elon Musk. Given complete access and was

ostensibly tasked with cutting waste, fraud, and abuse? They've entered the policy arena. With the perceived authority to fire people, they're forcing policy changes within departments and agencies. Who didn't see this coming. Elon and Big Balls have both left DOGE by the way. Both were used.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/doge-enters-atf-with-mandate-to-slash-gun-regulations/ar-AA1HwMZk

Please note..... Again, if you fire every one of the millions of government employees. All of them..... That trims our budget 4% and leaves us with no government. This is what Musk learned. Personnel wise our government is relatively efficient. It's the vast majority of our tax dollars that leave the government where we have bigger problems.

But that's irrelevant at this point.

On the face of it, the reduction in force of the ATF seems ill advised.

The form to buy a firearm is rather long and the questions asked such as are you a felon or are you a druggie are meant to catch the tards who actually do answer yes, but it is certainly not difficult to purchase a firearm. I have many firearms and have found the process of buying one somewhat dumb, but not a significant burden.

Perhaps the goal is to have drive through sales? Obviously I’m joking.

It might be reasonable to fold the ATF into Treasury and the FBI or some other entity, but we don’t need fewer inspectors in my opinion.

Dan Driscoll, the current acting ATF director, is a close friend of my son. He’s a very reasonable person and had bipartisan support in his confirmation process for Sec of the Army.

I’ll try to get the straight skinny on what’s going on.

So, you think more regulation and gov't workers is the answer?

I saw several comments in the article that make a lot of sense to me:

Since I know you guys like to run with your hair on fire with incomplete information:
according to multiple people with knowledge of the efforts, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss plans that have not been made public."

This sounds great:
"Attorney General Pam Bondi has said she wants to merge ATF with the Drug Enforcement Administration"

Yep:
“As Attorney General Bondi has made clear, ATF is working hard to reduce regulatory red tape that burdens lawful gun owners and to ensure agents are doing real police work hunting down criminals and gang members — not knocking on the doors of lawful gun owners in the middle of the night,” said Chad Gilmartin, a spokesman for the Justice Department, which oversees ATF.

look no further than the Pentagon and its military contractors pulling the copper pipes out of everything not nailed down. But they would never look there. My understanding is it was a data harvesting scheme, they used doge to track down people applying for citizenship. Color me shocked if an article comes out that Palantir has our SS data, they contract for ICE.

oh wait...

Sure there's waste and fraud.
But we're going to trust Pam Bondi to find it?
Pam Bondi said she was unaware that ICE agents were wearing masks in their efforts to apprehend illegal aliens.
I wouldn't trust Pam Bondi to give me a straight answer on what time it is.

tnet-military.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Again, it's not WITHIN the governemnt where the waste happens.

It's OUTSIDE the governemnt, among recipients of funds. The covid relief funds that were WIDELY abused, that wasn't by federal employees, but in the millions who perpetrated fraud to collect those funds OUTSIDE the governemnt who bought Ferrari's, mansions, yachts, etc. Contractors, businesses, and citizens.

There's $60+ billion in medicare and medicaid fraud yearly, probably more. That isn't employees of CMS getting rich or abusing those funds, it's doctors, hospitals, and medical providers. The AMERICAN people, the voters, those perfect, God-fearing examples of liberty, half of whom pay no taxes. THOSE PEOPLE waste YOUR tax dollars, not the bureaucracy.

This is why Elon left. Because he learned....several lessons. One, the blame is misplaced for waste. Second, he was used. It's a lesson the rest of the GOP will learn in time.

around DC back in the 1980s when the feds began to massively outsource their work. There is no way Congress can oversee the amount of money it spends, especially on the House side, when pols like Nancy Mace would rather brigade a culture war on social media then do their dang job. And she would know, since she and her father exploited government cheese before becoming a politician as well.

By the numbers, it isn't in the employees or their salaries.

You've been lied to. The waste, fraud, and abuse isn't within the governemnt, but in the trillions flowing OUT of the governemnt. Medicaid, medicare, Defense contractors, other contractors, social security, that's where the WFA is. Again, fire every federal employee, and we save 4% off the budget. This is why Musk left Doge. he was actually surprised how efficiently the federal employees were. The money being hemorrhaged is where the waste happens.

And, as I've said, CONGRESS is where 90% of our problems arise. Congress appropriates the money, and forces it to be used for certain purposes, regardless of efficiency. The distribution of the funds by governemnt employees IS EFFICIENT. The spending of it by recipients, is NOT.

News Flash: There is "waste and inefficiency" in corporations, churches, schools, colleges, your local civic club, MLB, NBA, NFL, and YES, even Clemson football and your own household unless you're the one exception in the world. So what's your point? Some people gotta have a scapegoat i guess.

I know your information universe is polluted, so please allow me to correct this:

"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies. "

First Annual Address, to both Houses of Congress, January 8, 1790 |

***I know the words get bigger, and this is very hard to read and comprehend, but back then people were much more eloquent/pedantic speakers and writers. As a general rule (PRO TIP), if you read a quote that reads easily, supposedly from an old source, it's usually fake.
