"DJ Uiagalelei struggled with accuracy early...." (Spring Game)

I see DJ is still his usual self in Oregon. He basically had like two complete performances while at Clemson. (Notre Dame 1st year and WF last year). Every other game he was equal parts up and down, always having at least one terrible play in each game that was Three Stooges like. That's how it is when you have confidence issues. I really don't see things changing for him there as such.

For completeness, the rest of that quote is as follows:

"DJ Uiagalelei struggled with accuracy early, but then found his groove and was sharp.
Uiagalelei showed good mobility in the pocket, and hitting receivers while on the move.
He was connecting with receivers and running backs, getting multiple players involved."
It almost seems as if some of you want him to fail, or at least take pleasure in his struggles. After all, he not only had the nerve to not play great at Clemson, but also say that our offense wasn't the right fit for him after leaving.
Not saying you specifically, but that's the general impression I've gotten here in reading many people's posts. What happened to "Once a Tiger, always a Tiger?"

but he really should be critical of the Clemson's offensive struggles without accept some of the responsibility for that. There was plenty of blame to go around and that includes the coaching, the play calling, the receivers, the blocking, and the QB play.

Given the circumstances I don’t think he should say anything at all and move forward >>! Probably best for all involved.

DJ isn't going to say "everything was perfect, i just couldn't get it done".
I'm fine with how he explained his rationale.
Beside, the Jacksonville Jaguar coaches were less than flattering regarding our offensive scheme. They made references to the Clemson system being simple and that there was a lot of work to do with Trevor as a result.

DJ time to move on….

So if simple is bad why are we excited about the new offensive that is even more simple 🤔
There is obviously more than one way to skin a cat/win a Natty and become a first round draft pic. We had two qb’s do just fine with this offense. That is why Dabo insisted on Elliott and Streeter keep running the “Clemson Offemse” …because it worked. And when he wanted a change he went to something more simple with Riley. But more complex offenses have won the Natty and a more simple offense made it to the championship game last year. And this offense that he supposedly hated and signed on with when he could have gone anywhere…had a good bit of success over the years.
And just for the record we were 12th in the country for down the field plays/ explosive play attempts….now actually completing those is a different story.
DJ knew exactly what type of offense clemson ran…it had not changed since morris left (this is what Dabo wanted)….and DJ showed interest in Clemson before Clemson showed interest in him when it came to recruiting. He also knew who the coaches were and how they were developing him when he chose to stay and graduate (and not leave after year 2). He did not choose to Leave until he wasn’t the starter anymore.
It is very obvious he is trying to save face…but not sure this is the best way to go about it. I don’t hear clemson coaches (even the one that got fired) saying…if only he had executed better.

Some of our fans seem to blame him almost exclusively for our struggles on offense the last two years. I get it, blaming him is easier than taking a critical look at our recruiting, roster management, coaching, and play of other position groups. But reading post after post continuing to bash his play here as well as comments about how he will fail at Oregon State, it's hard to believe that some of those posters don't hold a big grudge and want to see him fail.
I absolutely agree that DJ was responsible for some of our failures on offense the last two years. Players have to execute. DJ seems to understand that, dating all the way back to his first game as our #1 QB in 2022. After the loss against Georgia, he said:
"It’s on me,” Uiagalelei said. “I didn’t play very good. I didn’t play up to my capabilities. I didn’t play good enough to win the ball game. … I’ve got to play better. I think it’s as simple as that."
"I felt confident,” Uiagalelei said. “I just have to go out there and execute the game plan and do what I need to do. I didn’t make the throws I needed to. I took a couple of sacks when I should have thrown the ball away."

Odd, you blame coaching, recruiting and player development with football but … with BB it’s everything but that. You should find your Brad rock and go hide under it until after football season.

The difference is that Clemson football is way more talented

that almost every team we play.
On paper, we were significantly more talented than everyone, yet we lost 3 games.
We also have what are supposed to be among the best coaches in college football, at least based on what we pay them.
So it makes perfect sense to expect our players to develop and perform well, especially since we play teams who should be overmatched each week.
Let me know when our basketball program has these advantages, and thus the level of underachieving our football team has had recently.
Our basketball coaches are responsible for who they recruit, and as I've said we need to recruit better. But if we are being honest, our recruiting has been good the last few years, and at or above where we would expect it to be based on what we pay our coaches, how we fund the program, and our basketball history.
Clemson basketball can point to significant improvement in players over their Clemson careers. We can also point to numerous examples of our team overachieving, beating teams that we shouldn't. How many football players have we had recently who showed significant improvement, versus the players we've seen who have seemingly not improved much or even regressed? How many times have we seen Clemson football win a game recently that we shouldn't have won? Those pale in comparison to us losing games we shouldn't.
Context matters. I'm sorry if you can't appreciate that.

So you are saying the embarrassing losses this year are due to coaching and not the players?
Cool, I agree.

everyone had pretty much left him alone until he gave an interview last week where he was justifiably critical of the Clemson offense. However, what he didn't do was accept some of the responsibility for those offensive struggles, something to which he greatly contributed. Anyone who watched him play over the last two years knows that is absolutely the case. While he should have just remained silent on the matter, I chalk it up to his maturation process.
