ACCG what does this even mean?

Phillips said the ACC could consider giving its regular-season champion a bye, and have the teams that finish second or third in the league standings play in the ACC championship game.

So, who would be the official champ?

Its ridiculous - its impossible to have a 17 team league

and have a true champ. Too many teams don’t play each other. Championship participants determined by tiebreakers where the teams didn’t play each other already happening and now give a team a bye who might go 8-0 by possibly playing the worst 8 teams in the league? Go perfect and not have a chance to compete for the title? - ludicrous

Right on. ESPN wants to eliminate the 2 or 3 ACC team from the playoff so the SEC gets an additional team in.

What about the 4 team ACC Championship Playoff? That is the dumbest thing I've heard. Wouldn't it be great to have the 2 best RS teams loose a conf playoff game before the CFP picks?

Just go to five 16 team leagues with 2 division champions each (realign divisions every 3 or 4 years to keep competitive) in a 16 team playoff. Would still have 6 at large for Bama, ND and Penn St to argue over.
