If you want to get to the root cause of the problem, look no further than the Commissioner. He has done nothing to advocate for or advance the conference. Now it is too late. The conference is now embedded into a TV contract with ESPN to which the conference only receives slander, disdain, and reputational harm.

I agree, Swafford drove it in the ground. He is reason I have no use for the ACC. Phillips had a chance to change the ######, but has sat back idly until schools started suing to get out. Even then, he still hasn’t done anything worthwhile to even salvage the conference.

Swafford drove it in the ground and Phillips is getting paid to bury it.
