100% My thoughts, exactly, other than the Romo quip. I just didn’t think of that, but you nailed that one, too.

Meyer crashed in the Pro's, just like Lou Holtz, Nick Saban, and many other great college coaches, who all won National Championships.
Meyer recognized the talent of Trevor and Travis watching Clemson. He respects Clemson and Dabo by watching, after losing C.J. Spiller to Clemson. I think that 2018 Fiesta Bowl, where they both ran through the Ohio State defense made a lasting impression on Meyer.
Their performance this year at Jacksonville, proves he was right! Made the NFL playoffs. Then beat the Chargers at home in a comeback, and lost to the Chief's by a touchdown in Kansas City. A strong finish....

Just because he's not a do"che doesn't mean he will be a corrupt politician when he's done. Also, Romo is one of the few good announcers and I hate the cowboys.

Great response, but we would never.

I admit this is definitely personal, but I love Trevor's response & deliberate show of respect here.
It's funny how much we love him & Coach Swinney but how different we are collectively as a fan culture than they are. I used to think they were good examples to learn from, & I still do, I've just started to accept that's not what Clemson nation actually wants.
Still, can't believe someone asked him this question in the first place. Sports jobs can often be the worst.

I agree, with a caveat.

Coach Swinney's challenge to Clemson nation last week I thought was a brilliant moment.
Most people didn't agree, & that's OK, it was just a surprise, honestly.
I've tried to understand it, & the realization I've kinda had to force myself to swallow is Clemson nation largely doesn't want to be coached, & instead actually is put off by it.
We celebrate the coaches themselves & the players for how they learn & grow from those coaches, but that's for THEM, not for us.
I can't help being inspired myself; leaders like Coach Swinney & Trevor Lawrence do inspire me to think, act, feely & behave differently outright. While I think it could be a benefit for many, I've just learned to let it go & understand people don't want that, & they will fight for their right to be angry or miserable when representing Clemson exclusively, & often to a vastly disproportionate degree... but it is their right, & that's the most important part to most of the biggest voices by a big enough margin that I can't argue against it anymore, but rather just have to accept it.
It IS who we are now, for better or worse. Understanding that has helped me not get as upset with the sheer volume of pushback from coaching moments, so to speak, even if we can still celebrate guys like Trevor for responses like this in the first place.

That is a ridiculous thing to ask and really unfair to put TL on the spot like that. This is why I say the media creates a lot of the issues we have today. Gotta have drama even where there is none. Good for Trevor to not take the bait.

He was not about to throw Meyer under the bus but he did praise Pederson for turning things around. The future is bright for Trevor and the Jags!!

He said "no" but in the most polite, respectful, and non-bridge-burning, non-shade-throwing way possible.
