..he's going to have to get involved, get with Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries and get the horse trading going with the Pubs on Border Security.
Absent that, he's not going to get aid for Ukraine and aid for Israel may well be delayed too.
Even Mitt gets where things are. The Pubs and most Americans are wanting change at the border. It's unfortunate that it takes drastic measures to get things tightened up at the border where malignant neglect seems to rule the day.
The unprecedented influx which I would liken to a dying but salvageable person needs to be addressed first, much like airway, breathing and circulation in a person. After the border influx is mitigated, then other issues such as Dreamers, amnesty and pathways to citizenship can be dealt with much like dealing with other issues in a sick patient.
You deal with the most pressing issue first, not a plethora of issues at one time.
Deal or no deal Joe. Mike Johnson is not going to give in without getting something concrete on border security.

Strictly from a political standpoint, steal the thunder. Not to mention the legitimate national security issues.
At some point, the Politicians will also need to address immigration as it relates to the US labor resource. Demographics will impact the economy if not immediately than not too distant future.
