That Dabo should have been awarded ACC coach of the year after winning the ACC Championship in 2022. I doubt any other coach in the country could have done that facing the roster attrition Dabo did. This is really not even debatable.

You must mean how weak the ACC was.l because they have dominated their out of conference rivals thus far.

EVER been in basketball, and yet he hasn't SNIFFED winning a championship? Your bitterness over Dabo's football success is not even vaguely disguised. It is one of the reasons that people ride you so hard over your totally blind loyalty to a mediocre basketball coach.
Carry on.

If Clemson offered liked Alabama/Georgia/Florida etc etc etc. they would get those players. Dabo and staff go after their guys, just look at the 2025 QB who was promised no other QB signed between now and then. That sounds crazy in my mind, but they get paid big bucks to make those decisions

Lets do the math here.

Out of 29 players in the class:
-Three (10.3%) went to the NFL -Eleven (37.9%) transferred -Seven (24.1%) quit football altogether -Eight (27.6%) are still on the team
This seems like a high number of players who either transferred or quit.

I realized there were a few but no idea it was 7 total. That seems a bit high, I wonder if this is more common than I thought because injuries can end careers before they ever really get going.
Hoping all those young men are ok and can earn their degrees and become the Clemson men they should all strive to be!!

I think a number of the transfers you mention

are Clemson grads. Guys that have their degrees are much less likely to stick around if they are buried on a depth chart. All players are more at risk than ever to be buried on a depth chart when you essentially have 6 classes of players in a system due to Covid rules. The system with an 85 cap was also not designed for 6 classes of players. We’ve got 2 more years of potential Covid years after this season(not counting a handful of medical guys who seemingly can stay forever these days- see NCSU). Until the Covid bubble goes away, there will be no normalcy in roster management. That and TP rules stabilize. They’ve changed multiple times since 2019 - hopefully they leave it alone with what they did this year. Undergrads get 1 freebie then then have to sit a year. Clemson does have a lot of guys though that graduate in 3 years as a lot of guys start in Dec so I do expect to see a higher # of grad transfers out by guys buried in the depth chart. We will have more flexibility in the future to fill those spots once the Covid year roster pressures are no longer a factor.
FYI - Johnson graduated last year. He’s a policeman now.
All that said 5 of the remaining 6 are starting and several will have an opportunity with the NFL. It is their 5th season, so not sure how many you’d expect to still be here under normal circumstances - 9 or so??? The one who isn’t starting basically was derailed by serious medical complications due to Covid for 2 years but he hasn’t given up. To me - the giving up football is the category that is most concerning and needs a closer look- 1) did they get their degree 2) did they have to quit due to medical? - not a lot you can do about that 3) or was their some other reason?

Not all those marked as "Quit"... actually "Quit" as in didn't want to play anymore. You have injuries in that category as well. If you are facing serious debilitating injury if you continue to play or you have accumulated a bunch of injuries that make it obvious that you need to stop playing then I don't see that as "quitting".

with the expectation that they would be available to help us, and now they're not.
That's true whether they transferred out, had a career ending injury, had significant illness, or simply decided that they didn't want to play football anymore.

who have started/played significant multi year roles at other P5 schools and could have gotten serious minutes or possibly started this year had they stayed. Remove the medical and this is not going to look different than most classes except for the "elite players". This class didn't really have those guys. We had 1 composite 5 star. I think Booth and Ngata were the only rated 5 stars. Booth hit that level, Ngata didn't. We were ranked 10th in composite with 29 guys. Normally we can hit that mark or higher with 18-20 commits, that should tell you something. And honestly, it was a class of 29 so it could afford to lose more than most of our classes to injuries.
