His offers included Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, N.C. State, Tennessee, and others. Clemson offered on 4/24/13 and he took part in the Dabo Swinney football camp in June 2012 and 2013.

As a sophomore, he had 63 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks.

He is the 12th commitment of FSU's 2015 class. Barnett wants to major in sports broadcasting.
