Clemson Fifth Among Top 25 Teams in Graduation Rate

CLEMSON, SC - Clemson's football graduation rate for student-athletes who entered Clemson between 1996-99 ranks fifth in the nation among Associated Press Top 25 teams according to data released by the NCAA on September 27. The Tigers had a four-year rate of 77 percent, 12 points ahead of the national average for football and equal to the national average for all student-athletes.

Notre Dame had the top graduation rate for the period examined among top 25 schools with a 95 percent mark, while Nebraska was second at 88 percent. Florida was third at 80 percent and TCU was fourth at 78 percent. Clemson's 77 percent rate was fourth among ACC schools trailing only Boston College, Duke and Wake Forest.
