Clemson Defensive Tackle Charged with Possession

CLEMSON - Clemson University student Christopher Floyd McDuffie, 19, of Danville, Va., turned himself in to Clemson University police today (July 6) on two charges related to possession of marijuana.

McDuffie, a rising sophomore and member of the football team, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within proximity of a school. Both charges are felonies. McDuffie was arraigned and released on personal recognizance bond. The university has imposed interim suspension on McDuffie. He also has been suspended from the football team. "Chris McDuffie has been suspended from the Clemson football team. We will review his status with our program when the judicial process has been completed," said Head Football Coach Tommy Bowden. McDuffie red-shirted the 2003 season and has not yet played in a game for Clemson. He is listed as a third-team defensive tackle on depth chart.
