Shaq Lawson paying funeral costs for 11-year old shooting victim

by - Assoc. Editor -

11-year Ja'Naiya Scott was fatally shot on June 23 after a gunman fired more than 35 shots at her families' home on West End Avenue in Anderson.

Scott was among three people shot as her 18-year old sister, and 11-year old cousin are currently hospitalized.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson has agreed to pay for the funeral expenses for the family.

"It could have been my little sister," he told the Greenville News. "I've got a little sister around that age, and it could have been one of my family members."

There are no suspects yet to be named in this case and if you have more information, call 1-888-CRIME-SC. A reported $10K reward has been established for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting.

TigerNet would like to give out our warmest condolences to the family and friends of Ja'Naiya Scott and the other two victims of this tragic event.
