was released by the San Diego Chargers according to multiple reports. Other players cut included WR Tevin Reese, QB Brad Sorensen and DE Doug Worthington.

Butler played in 12 games with the Chargers in 2013. He also has played for the Cardinals (2X), Redskins and Bills. The Steelers drafted him in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft.

He will immediately fall into the free agent pool and more than likely will be picked up quickly by another NFL team.
