by - Assoc. Editor -

Portland Trailblazers forward K.J. McDaniels scored 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead his team to a 91-73 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers to win the NBA Summer League title on Tuesday.

McDaniels was named the Championship Game MVP after his 8-for-14 shooting effort including a few highlight reel plays.

"Taking it back to Rip City and keep on grinding," McDaniels said after winning the award. Look for McDaniels to get a real look on an NBA roster after this performance.

He averaged 16.2 points and 7 rebounds for the Grand Rapids Drive of the G-League last season.
