Clemson shortstop signee Jalen Miller from Atlanta, GA has signed with the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday according to MLB.com's signing tracker. He signed for $1.1 million which was nearly double his draft slot's value.
He was drafted in the third round (95th overall) by the San Francisco Giants in the 2015 MLB Draft.
TigerNet spoke to Miller last year and he said that "Two of my former coaches were committed to Clemson but chose the Pro route. They told me about it and my old summer coach Todd Raleigh. He played under Leggett at Western Carolina and he took me to the camp and I have loved it ever since."
In 2014, his final stats for the season were a .463 average going 38 for 82, 36 RBI's, 9 doubles, 1 triple, 16 walks, .551 OBP and .8537 slugging percentage. He is a very good defensive shortstop that also has the ability to hit for a high average.
3rd-rder Jalen Miller signs w/@SFGiants for $1.1 mil (nearly double slot). Georgia HS SS, lots of Brandon Phillips parallels. @MLBDraft
