Hello Mickey,

Perhaps the most discouraging thing I saw Saturday on sideline and in interviews was KB “defeated attitude”. He seemed to know his days were over.

Your thoughts please on these QB Scenarios especially as it relates to who might transfer out:

Trevor takes over and Kelly back up, then Hunter then Chase---- Will Hunter transfer?

In this scenario I think TL forced to grow up fast with growing pains, Hunter leaves program?

Hunter, then Trevor then Kelly then Chase-----

, as Hunter has some real game experience. ------

Then Brice transfers.

Kelly, then Trevor then Hunter, -----IF KB can learn to pass deep, his year of experience, could pay huge dividends, bring TL along Hunter less likely to transfer.

Trevor, Hunter, Chase, KB---- Best scenario If Trevor and Hunter are best two, bring them along fast as possible, and Chase may not transfer.

What sayest thou o wisest of the Tiger Football sages?

Thank Mickey,

The Reidville Tiger

The Reidville Tiger,

I seldom dodge questions, and I really want to give you an answer. However, I have no idea what will happen and what each player is thinking. I have no idea what their priorities are. I have no idea what their criteria are for staying or transferring. It does make me feel better that Dabo, Brandon Streeter, Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott don’t know what is going to happen either. I really wish I could help you, but speculating about something this serious is not wise on my part. Let’s just let this thing play out and let the chips fall where they may. So sorry I couldn’t help you.

Mickey,

We are going to the Prowl and Growl in Greenwood Monday and I will be interested to hear what Coach Brownell has to say about next year. If Mitchell and Reed are drafted, the roster will be razor thin unless a transfer or two come in. Have you heard any news of whether any grad transfers are considering Clemson or if any unsigned player are available either here or abroad?

As for baseball, will the up and downs continue or have we seen the best there is this year? It was a dream to think the Tigers were a top 5 team because it now seems things have to turn around or just making the ACC Tournament might become a question. The weekend series at Wake is huge and hopefully a new shipment of bats make the trip to Winston Salem. Time to turn on the push for post season.

Andy

Andy,

College basketball is crazy with the early entries and transfers. It is so difficult to build any consistency. I would be surprised if Reed and Mitchell do not come back. However, if they left the season changes drastically. Jonathan Baehre is coming in, but he has to sit out a year. I would not be surprised to see another transfer in, but I am not sure who is under consideration at this point.

The offense has been an issue for this baseball team. There has been little consistency throughout the lineup. Also, let’s face it, who would have thought Beer, Williams, and Davidson would struggle as much as they have this season? This team still has all of its goals in play, but the offense will have to put together more consistency for this team to reach its potential. I agree this series is huge. I called it the biggest series of the season so far.

Mickey,

As bad as I hate to say it, I think it is time to admit that this CU baseball team is just not very good.

Hitting close to .240 as a team is atrocious. That means basically your pitching staff has to give up

2 runs or less pretty much every game, and we know this is not a great pitching staff. Not sure

a Clemson team has been this weak with its 3 starters in quite some time. I am really pulling for

Monte Lee but he is going to have to recruit. Looking ahead to next year...............whoa!

Williams is gone. Beer, I guess will go, but he needs to stay. He had the incredible freshman year

but really, to be honest, nothing spectacular since.

Love to be wrong, but next year does not

look good. Would love to see this year's team at least start hitting in the 1-6 spots and find a

way to win 20 in the conference and 40 overall. Not counting on it from what I have seen, but

still hoping like hell.

Regards

Bill

Bill,

I am more worried about this team than next season at this point. They can still have a very successful season, but the offense needs to pick it up soon. The good news is the schedule looks manageable.

Next season they will miss Williams and Beer but Davidson and Meredith at the top of the lineup would be a plus, and much of the pitching should be back.
