Mickey,

I think this team is mentally ready to win the title. Last year, we had the talent, but this year we have the mental aspect that one must have to be successful at this level. As Dabo said, it was all business last year and he couldn’t remember Glendale. Watching him walk around the stadium before the game last year, you could almost sense the magnitude of the moment. This year he will be more relaxed and focused on the task at hand versus just being there. I am a firm believer that a team takes on the personality and demeanor of the coach. The moment is not too big for them; in fact, the moment is just right. You see in Dabo’s eyes and you will see the same from the team. Welcome Clemson Tigers, you are joining the club.

Stuart

Stuart,

I hope you are right. I thought the Tigers played Alabama toe-to-toe last year and should have won the game, but feel this year is different. Clemson limped into last year's game. Boulware, Lawson, and Alexander were banged up before the game. Williams was out. Cain and Lakip were suspended. This year I think Clemson is fresher. This game just has a different feel to it.

Mickey,

"And the word came to the prophet Dabo a second time saying,

Arise, goeth down to Tampa...there you will find the champion of Tuscaloosa awaiting thee...

Do not fear, neither be thou dismayed...

I have prepared the game plan for thee...

Choose 5 smooth stones from The Valley...

•Coaching Preparation

•Offensive Execution

•Defensive Exhilaration

•Special Team Accentuation

•Tiger Rag Infatuation

When you go out to battle against your enemy, and see defensive players more highly touted than yours, remember this:

I have girded you with strength for battle...

The sons of Tuscaloosa will be equipped for warfare, but do not fear this great multitude...

Though this vast army will come against you, I will provide redemption...

Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance that will be given thee...

Go out to face them on Monday, be arrayed for battle...

For I will be with thee...no one can withstand you...

A great victory will be wrought on that day...

According as I have promised thee."

II Kisiah 20:17

Kisiah,

Brilliant. I feel more enlightened.

Mickey,

Wow, what a great effort by the Tiger players and coaches to humiliate The Ohio State. I was at games in the 60's and watched Frank Howard's teams, watched Charlie Pell turn things around by recruiting great O linemen, was in Miami when we won the National Championship, went to many Bowls in Jacksonville, Orlando and Atlanta and even marched with the mob to the President's house in Clemson after Danny Ford was fired, but I have never seen a better Clemson effort than we saw Saturday.

Dabo has an unbelievable staff and the players are not only talented but appear to be young men of great character and truly dedicated student athletes that we should all be proud of.

I have thought all year that Alabama was the best team I have ever seen and their defense may be, but after watching the games Saturday, I believe Clemson can win. If there has ever been a case of a great offense going against a great defense it will be that Monday in Tampa, but Clemson's defense was so good against Ohio State that if we can get that kind of effort against the Tide, maybe, just maybe the dream can come true.

Protect Watson, somehow find enough running yards to keep Bama honest, don't give up a touchdown on a turnover and slow down the Tide's running game, it can be done. GO TIGERS!

Andy

Andy,

I agree. This was perhaps the best performance of any Clemson team I have seen. They came up with a supreme effort at a crucial time. They played their best game on a huge stage. I also agree that Clemson can win Monday night. They match up well against Alabama. So many teams don't have the players or scheme to play with them, but Clemson is one of the few teams that has the capability to beat Alabama.
