Mickey, I bow to the effort of the Tiger basketball team this year because after the past few seasons, this year was amazing. The team played one of the worst first 30 minutes of the year against Kansas and a great last 10 minutes was not quite enough. There were a couple of foul/no foul calls that could have changed the game but that happens in every game. When Clemson made good decisions this year the result was usually good shooting and honestly, they were very good when that happened. What next year and the future will bring remains to be seen because recruiting has to get better. The players learned they could play with anyone and hopefully success this season will breed success in the future. Great job by Coach Brownell, his staff and all the players and all Clemson fans should be very proud. Andy Andy, I agree that this team didn’t play well in the first 30 minutes Friday night. It seems like Kansas was able to speed Clemson up and the Tigers didn’t adapt well to their style. The Tigers didn't look evry comfortable. But yes, this was a great season for Clemson basketball. There are several keys to this program taking advantage of the opportunities it has created with the success of this season. First is getting Mitchell, Reed, and Thomas back. I think all three could try the combine and not sign with an agent, but eventually come back to school. Second, the state of South Carolina is loaded with talent in the next few classes, and the staff has some recruiting momentum due to this season. They have to be able to convert this season into commitments from a few of these top players. Clemson basketball has had few windows of opportunity in the past, but this staff has a chance to build something pretty special in the next few years. Mickey, I haven’t heard anything on Greg Huegel. How is he recovering from his surgery? Thank you! William William, I was told his injury was worse than many realize. However, I am also told that his progress has been encouraging. In fact, Dabo said he hit a 46-yarder Monday at practice. This will be a big key to the Tigers fortunes this season. Clemson does have competition here when you add Spence and Potter. Mickey, Please tell me Riley Gilliam has turned the corner. He looked really good Sunday. Why did that look so different Saturday? Go Tigers! Sweep BC! Dean Dean, I agree he looked different. His fastball exploded. It looked like he was more confident. I am not sure what they have been working on, but Gilliam looked much more confident, and he had command. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come because he has closer stuff. If he combines that stuff with command, he could be a terrific closer! Prayer List The prayer list is a medium for our community to recognize those that are in need.
