Mickey,

I hope that you are doing well and everything is good.. I have a few questions for you, let’s start with baseball do you think the team we’ll be able to repeat as ACC Champions ? Also with the news of the ACC football Championship staying in Charlotte til 2030, why hasn’t the ACC attempted to have the conference baseball tournament in Charlotte in the new BBT stadium ? Especially with the support that the ACC fans have give Charlotte.

Next most of the talk from spring has been about the D-line and the QB’s and I understand but how are things shaking out at WR, LB,RB and DB?

Who do you think the next Woman’s B-Ball is going to be ?

Thank you ! Go Tigers ! Terrell

Terrell,

The ACC is strong again this year, but Clemson has a good chance. NC State, Clemson, FSU, and Duke are top ten teams this year. UNC is a top 20 team right now too, but I think Clemson is as good as anyone in the league and is very capable of winning the league.

I like your idea of baseball moving its tournament to Charlotte. The ballpark looks nice, and it would be convenient for Clemson.

The WRs are coming along well. Overton, Thompson, and Higgins have all showed signs but need to be more consistent. I hear great things about Amari Rodgers and Derion Kendrick. And we all know Hunter Renfrow comes back and can be counted on.

This is an experienced group at linebacker. I think Venables likes his depth and experience here. The key may be Isaiah Simmon’s development at the SAM linebacker.

I also hear good things at RB. Choice has been solid but got banged up this week. Feaster and Etienne have had very good springs as well.

I think they like their front line guys in the secondary but are concerned about depth. Fields, Terrell and Mullens can be counted on at corner. Muse and Wallace are solid at safety. The issues are depth at both spots.

Finally, I have no idea on women’s basketball. I don’t have any contacts in that arena and really don’t know any of the candidates other than former Florida head coach Amanda Butler, who I have heard good things about.

Hey Mickey,

Us as Clemson fans have been pretty dang lucky in the past couple with years with getting top ranked recruits every year. I know this class is supposed to be pretty big and that means plenty of big names guys coming in I hope. But my question is who do you think might commit to us soon? As of right now we have 3 commits I believe so hopefully we can get some big named guys to come to Tigertown soon!

Thanks,

Wells

Wells,

I never really know about timing and when guys will commit. I would not be surprised if Bryton Constantin, a linebacker from Louisiana, eventually commits. Luke Deal is a talented tight end from Greenwood that is favoring the Tigers too. I would anticipate a few commitments in the next few weeks, but this staff can afford to be very picky and selective with this class. They are not in a rush with most of their prospects. Hope this helps a little.

Mickey,

Did I read it right that Richard Yeargin will not play Saturday? Hoping for the best for him. Thanks!

Brad

Brad,

I saw Richard yesterday and he has had a setback with some issues from his neck injury. They are being careful with it, as they should be considering the consequences. Yeargin and the medical staff hope it heals over the summer and more surgery is not needed. Prayers to a great young man. Hope he gets fully recovered soon.
