Q&A with Urban Meyer on Clemson-Auburn |
Urban Meyer interview (MP3 Format)
CLEMSON – Former Florida head coach and current ESPN analyst Urban Meyer was at Clemson’s practice Thursday afternoon, and TigerNet caught up with Meyer to ask him his thoughts on Saturday’s Clemson-Auburn matchup. TN: What are your thoughts on Chad Morris and the Clemson offense and what pieces are missing? How does it differ from your offense? UM: It really doesn’t differ much at all. I’ve actually known Chad for quite a while when we recruited Jevan Snead , so I know Chad really well. What is missing? Just a couple of games experience. They have the talent and the coaches, and it’s gonna be a breakout game one of these days. TN: Is the Clemson offensive line physical enough? UM: I don’t know about not physical enough, just too many errors. You can tell with the up-tempo offense and new quarterback, there is a combination of mental errors. I am not saying they aren’t physical enough; they just need to clean up some things a little bit. TN: So you think the pieces are in place for a great offense? UM: The pieces are in place. One of these days you will wake up and have one of the most powerful offenses in the country. TN: Thoughts on
Tajh BoydTajh Boyd UM: I’ve known Tajh for quite a while because we were involved in recruiting him. I like the people around him, too. I think those two young freshmen coming in here – [Mike] Bellamy and [Sammy] Watkins – those guys are different level players. TN: Keys to the game Saturday? UM: I think the key is on the other side of the ball. I think both teams will move the ball a little bit, and it will be whichever defense steps up and makes a stop is going to win the game.
