CLEMSON - While three Clemson football players announced they would return to the team for their senior seasons, the future of three others appears to be very much up in the air.

Michael Hamlin, Cullen Harper and Dorrell Scott - all of whom submitted paperwork to the NFL seeking information on their professional futures - said they would return for the 2008 season. The trio confirmed as much on Tuesday.

But three others - James Davis, Philip Merling and Aaron Kelly - reportedly missed a team meeting earlier in the day. No further word on whether any of them have made a final decision their futures was available. The Charleston Post and Courier reported in Tuesday morning's edition that Merling was leaning toward skipping his senior year.

Meanwhile, six incoming freshmen enrolled early and will start classes this semester. That makes them eligible for spring practice.

The six were Kyle Parker, Stanley Hunter, Daquan Bowers, Spencer Benton, Tarik Rollins and Marquan Jones.
