Todd Gurley Todd Gurley Running Back 6-1, 200 Tarboro, NC View Full Profile
, a senior at Tarboro, is one of the top-rated running backs in the nation, possessing the ability to play multiple positions. As a highly sought-after recruit with offers from the likes of Auburn, UNC, Georgia, Virginia Tech and Clemson, Gurley agreed to chronicle his senior season and recruiting experience through a weekly diary with ESPNHS. What's up, everyone? It's your boy Todd Gurley, but whenever you see me, you can call me TG. I play football for Tarboro High School, the two-time defending Class 2A state champions and home of legends Kelvin Bryant and Shaun Draughn. Both played running back at UNC. If you don't know by now, I've narrowed down my list of schools to six, in the order of UNC, Georgia, Virginia Tech, N.C State, Auburn and Clemson. I've taken unofficial visits to all of these colleges, except Auburn. I picked those six schools because I feel they have what I need athletic-wise and academically. UNC is still my top school, even with all that's going on there. I feel like I can't take them out of the running just because they get in trouble for something in the past. I really like the school and I know everything with the football program will take care of itself. I'm waiting to see what happens, but it'd have to get pretty bad for me to take UNC off the list. Like, I want to to play in some bowl games, so if they can't do that, I might have to reconsider.
