Many prospects cannot wait to show their skills on a national level. Damien Wright did that this summer in Colorado where he qualified for and atteneded the Future Business Leaders of America National meetings.
Wright is one of the top prospects in the state of South Carolina this year who says his top three are Clemson, USC, and Vanderbilt. "I will take unofficial visits to Clemson and South Carolina before school starts back, so it will be within a couple of weeks. Hopefully, I will make my decision after those visits. I will talk to my parents about it first."
The Sumter, SC native is going to look at what will be the best fit for him personally between the schools. "I will look at how I fit in with coaches, and see if I feel like I fit in."
Wright is very close friends with former high school teammate and Clemson rover Maurice Nelson. "Maurice has kept in touch with me through other people. I haven't got to see him since junior days. I would love to be able to play with Maurice. Plus, if I go to Clemson I know he will be the one that shows me around."
Wright is not backing down from any challenges this year. "This is our year to make it. I am expecting a lot of myself this season. I will be involved on offense, defense, and special teams."
The speedy safety is in very good shape qualifying with an 860 SAT and a 3.6 GPA.
