The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Clemson commitment Austin Meadows with the ninth overall pick in Thursday MLB's draft. The MLB network compares Meadows to former Clemson outfielder Tyler Colvin.
Meadows, a left-handed hitting and throwing outfielder, committed to Clemson over a year ago. He hit a robust .538 this season for Grayson, with four homers, despite not seeing many good pitches to hit. Clemson baseball signee Austin meadows goes 9th in MLB draft to Pittsburgh. #9 pick slotted to get $3.029 million. I'm a Pittsburgh Pirate! @pirates twitter.com/austin_meadows…
