5-star Clemson commit Trevor Lawrence is back on top of the recruiting world.
Lawrence jumped signal-caller Justin Fields from Kennesaw Harrison (Ga.) as the No. 1 prospect in the newly released 247 Sports' 2018 recruiting rankings. The 6-foot-6 quarterback finished his high school career as the all-time leading passer surpassing Deshaun Watson with 13,908 yards and 161 total scores. In 2017, he finished the season passing for 3,296 yards with 40 touchdowns and only a single interception. Cartersville had a 41-game winning streak before falling to Blessed Trinity (Ga.) 21-17 in the playoffs.
Another Clemson commit that rose in the rankings was athlete Derion Kendrick that leaped jumped 12 spots to No. 72 overall.
Other Clemson commits included in the Top247 rankings included DE Xaver Thomas (No. 3), DE Josh Belk (No. 78), DB Kyler McMichael (No. 88), DE Justin Mascoll (No. 176), and LB Mike Jones Jr. (No. 185).
Clemson's class is currently ranked #17 nationally and third in the ACC with 11 total commits consisting of two 5-stars, five 4-stars, and four three-stars.
However, Clemson is still in the mix with several elite prospects that could skyrocket them up the rankings in the coming weeks. Clemson priority targets ranked high on the list include DE K.J. Henry (No. 15), OT Cade Mays (No. 39), S Brendan Radley-Hiles (No. 43), and WR Justyn Ross (No. 153).
