Busy Week For Clay
We have reported since back in the summer that Clemson has been one of the front runners for Antonio Clay. In tonight's interview with Clay, the Tigers still to appear to be right in the thick of it.
"This week Coach West from Clemson, Coach Smith from Georgia Tech, Coach Bratton from Maryland, and Coach Bobby Bowden all came to the house.
Coach West showed me some statistics who was the ACC leading tacklers. Leroy was pretty high on there. He was telling me that I could come in there and compete for that position right away as freshmen. Not to take anything away from the players there just that would be what I would be competing for.
Coach Smith close to home, possibly start their as well. Showed me some new some schemes. It went pretty well.
Coach Bratton talked about D’Qwell Jackson. He said I remind him of D’Qwell. It is a pretty nice place to go to.
Coach Bowden was telling me how much FSU would love to have me there. He said they are going to have a good recruiting class and compete for a national championship every year. He also said that Coach Kevin Steele would love to have me there. Said I was a good fit in the system."
Did one of the coaches stand out over the rest?
"Coach West really impressed. The papers he brought down to show me were really interesting. I really like that. He made me think. I am still considering everyone though."
Clay has been invited to the North Georgia-South Georgia All-Star. He said he is still awaiting an invitation to the US Army All-American game.
