from their practice roster on Friday, one month after acquiring his rights from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The teams will no longer swap 4th rounders in 2017 since it was a conditional pick.

Boyd was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers back in mid-August after not making an appearance in either of the two Steelers' preseason games while on the active roster.

He passed for 11,904 yards with a 64.3% completion rate, 107 touchdowns and 39 interceptions during his outstanding career at Clemson. He also rushed for 1,100 yards and another 26 scores on the ground. The former fan-favorite was also the ACC player of the year in 2012.
