Swinney on if Watson will play against the Gamecocks |
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said that he doesn't know if
Deshaun Watson
Deshaun Watson "Day to day is all I can tell you," Swinney said. "It gets better every day. I don't see any way he would play Saturday. We're hopeful he can play next week, but I can’t tell you today." "He has still has an injury. It's not like he is out there doing sprints, but we know how to attack it now." Swinney said they would not play Watson if it put him at unnecessary risk. "We aren't going to put anybody out there that can't play," Swinney said. "They all take a risk when they go out there. But if they (doctors) tell me a guy can play we plan for them and if they tell me they can't play, we don't." Swinney said Watson's ACL and MCL are fine and he would require no surgery.
