Lawson discusses his hit that knocked Kaaya out

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson was interviewed by the media following Clemson's 58-0 laugher against Miami on Saturday afternoon.

Lawson said his sack that knocked Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya out of the football contest was one of his best hits since he started participating in football.

"It's probably the best hit I've had since I started when I was younger playing football," Lawson said. "It kind of reminded me of that Clowney hit a little bit."

Lawson was delighted that he has been made such an impact play for his defense.

"That felt great," Lawson said. "I've been wanting to have a big hit. He's a great quarterback. It was a clean hit, and it was just a great play by me. I feel like I've been waiting to get a real big hit like that. We were talking about this week that we haven't seen a backup, and that was the most I've seen a backup. I feel like I wanted to get a big hit on the quarterback and that's what I did."

Lawson said that he felt stars when he first come up himself.

"I didn't know at first," Lawson said. "I felt the hit myself. When I hit him, I saw stars. I put the damage on him. It felt great to get a big hit like that."
